'Saudis would agree to IAF flyovers'

Mossad head Meir Dagan assured Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu that Saudi Arabia would allow IAF jets to fly over the kingdom during any future raid on Iran's nuclear facilities, The Sunday Times reported.

The British paper reported that Dagan held talks with Saudi officials earlier this year on the topic.

However, the Prime Minister's Office issued an official denial on Sunday morning, saying the report was "completely false and baseless."

The Israeli media has already carried unconfirmed reports that high-ranking officials, including former prime minister Ehud Olmert, held meetings with Saudi officials, but the kingdom has denied the reports. "The Saudis have tacitly agreed to the Israeli air force flying through their airspace on a mission which is supposed to be in the common interests of both Israel and Saudi Arabia," a diplomatic source was quoted in the Times as saying.

Would the Saudis really accept Israel's agreement on letting Israeli jets overfly Saudi airspace to bomb the nuke plants?

This is a red herring. They’re creating noise about an attack route they’ll never take, so as to keep their defenses at normal levels along the route they will take. Nobody ever discusses their actual plans in public, but they can use the public airwaves to spread confusion.

I think so. The Saudis want to get rid of Iran

Yes, Sunnis and Shiites are always fighting each other.

But to let Jewish people fly over.. that is a different question. I am not sure.

it is an interesting question. with a lot of twists. If they let them fly over then say they didn't this would let them attack the shiites and still look good.

I think the best strategy would be for the Israelis to help in anyway possible the protesters to ratchet up the protesters.

That’s possible, albeit with conventional warheads only.

I say it, I think they’ll just fly directly across Iraq. It poses the least problem for them and is the most safest route.

They’ll just call up our guys prior to entering airspace, and tell them they are coming through.

Intel community will be given a heads up and so will DOD. Were not going to stop them, were not going to shoot them down, were just gonna let them go.

And 99% of the brass in the Pentagon will be quietly praying for them to find their targets and return safely home.

I think the Israelis would like nuclear warheads to completely destroy the facility. I agree nukes should be used.

Probably a two or three pronged aerial attack with Ra’ams and Sufas as bomb trucks, while Bazes will eliminate any Iranian aerial opposition.

If you are going to destroy something, you do it completely

And what do you get? A total nuclear war.

Nukes are a no-no for this scenario.

Its going to head that way if its conventional. The Iranians will respond with nukes. So minus will, hit them first and very hard to the point where they cannot set up a coherent attack.

Hit the Iranians so hard, they will not know which way is up.

It is the measure of a sick administration when it turns out that the Saudis may be more sympathetic to Israel vis a vis Iran than America is under Barack Hussein Obama.

Making ‘friends’ with the Israelis, just to save their backs.
