Something has changed over the course of the last five weeks. Barack Obama, who seemed politically invincible to his supporters and many media commentators, now seems vulnerable. His approval ratings are dropping, public concern is rising, the debt is exploding, and the economy is, in many respects, worsening. This may simply be a bit of a rough patch he can ride through and overcome; or it may be the beginning of a longer slide. Time will tell. But Obama seems less politically formidable than he did. The main reason for this shift is that Obamas signature initiative to date, his $787 billion stimulus package the first major legislation of his presidency, quickly passed in order to both avert a catastrophe and jump-start the economy has been a bust.

Awakening? Don’t see that yet ... more of a collective stir from a long nap - could go back to sleep or wake up.
We need an Obama version of the picture of Dorian Gray.
It's exactly the way they were always going to "handle" things. For cripe's SAKE.
Call it the beginning of the Great Awakening.
uh-huh
Barack Obama - who shall henceforth be referred to as: the-one-termer.
I for one never went to sleep.
I for one never went to sleep.
I for one never went to sleep.
You have got to be kidding me? Does the writer of this article, Peter Wehner, actually believe any Democratic (socialist) Party politician would accurately advertise their Marxist/communist agenda to all Americans? Of course he doesn't...he's just a schmoozer, that's all.
Many Americans know their (the Dems) agenda and either agree with or oppose it. Many Americans underestimated just how much of their agenda they could get accomplished in a single year of their term. People understand why the Democratic Party politicians are in such a hurry to pass their atheistic social programs...because they have full control only for now and will lose some of their power the next election cycle.
This writer sounds like a person who duped himself into believing only the good parts of socialism would get through and passed...lol. Like many heretical religious persons did...but I think this writer is simply trying to ease these heretics into deluding themselves that they had been misled and therefore are victims and not accomplices. I think he feels he's being slick, and bringing them to a smoother landing or more apropriately a softer self-dissappointment.
There is no "great" awakening ever going to happen...only affirmation of most everyone's expectations and a small awakening that will be just enough to slow down our steady path to through socialism into fascism.
People wanted to play jimmy-the-dunce, but they knew deep inside what was going to happen.
the one (TERMER)
The Demonrats, no matter what happens for the next 2 years, will blame Bush for our troubles. No matter what happens, no matter what destruction they reap, the Demonrats will trot out the “Bush’s fault” to justify ANYTHING they do to this nation.
Just goes to prove that Obozo the Pretender has not read his history.
Me, either. Nor did I. Never shut my eyes.
I for one never went to sleep.
I for one never went to sleep.
I for one never went to sleep.
That’s because you need to lay off the coffee. ;)
I agree. He's doing everything possible to keep the economy down (whether he understands that or not) and if it stays down he's toast.
Or it could be that he is marginalizing the producers of the country at the behest of the Goldman Sachs pirates and the very small coterie of out of touch liberals (contra media assertions of their large cohort), the numbers are not on his side.
The Demonrats, no matter what happens for the next 2 years, will blame Bush for our troubles.
They will blame GW Bush for the rest of their lives.
The left still blame Reagan for many things yet are blind to the shenanigans of James Earl Carter.
It remains to be seen how many followers of their messiah will stick with him.
I agree as well. Assuming an HONEST election, that is. We need to put energy and funds into fighting election fraud, phony registrations, etc. so we’ll have a chance.
