because the intrastate and interstate trafficking of firearms are so commingled, full regulation of interstate commerce requires the incidental regulation of intrastate commerce;

Death to tyrants.

negroes

Who are you, George Wallace?

There are plenty of black FReepers here and black conservatives who didn't vote for Obama. The least you could do is just say black or African-American.

It’s so stupidly, if I can borrow a term, written that it won’t stand a chance in the current supreme court.

------

To hell with the Supreme Court. They've watched as countless unconstitutional measures were signed into law and didn't do a damn thing.

How does this sound instead: (My state) thinks this measure is unconstitutional so (my state) will not comply. The feds may try to force compliance, if they wish, but they do so at their own peril.

Sadly, "my state" is Massachusetts, where the courage shown at Lexington is only remembered by the national park rangers.

Which would obviously include all the Evil Black Rifles and SKS-pattern rifles, but as well all the M-1 Garands out there.

You might want to study up on the rifles a little, Most SKS's and Garand's have fixed magazines... not detachable.

Although I wouldn't expect a gun grab to end there, the SKS and Garand are two of the most dependable surplus rifles out there... they would be way up on a "ban list" just because there are so many in circulation.

I’m not familiar with the SKS-type rifles; I was under the impression they had detachable magazines.

I’m pretty sure the enbloc 8-round clip for the Garand would be interpreted as a “detachable ammunition feeding device”.

The SKS can be modified to take detachable mags. As manufactured, it has a fixed magazine.

I’m not familiar with the SKS-type rifles; I was under the impression they had detachable magazines.

The vast majority have a ten-round fixed magazine, loaded through the top via stripper clips. There's a guide slot for the clips at the front of the bolt carrier. The SKS-D and SKS-M models were modified to accept detachable AK-47 mags.

I’m pretty sure the enbloc 8-round clip for the Garand would be interpreted as a “detachable ammunition feeding device”.

Unlikely. The "feeding device" (spring-loaded follower) is integral with the rifle. Of course, that's not to say that BATFE won't come up with some new and astonishingly stupid rule.

A few SKS's have been "modified" to accept some AK magazines,it can be done but not easily, and with the Garand "clip"... maybe, but it is not really an "integral" part of the weapon, more like a "speed loader", but hey that hasn't stopped the gun grabbers before!

The irony is that he served six months in the pokey for firearms possession.

He was a FELON in position of a firearm.

That should show you the "caliber" of people serving in the House of Representatives.

Regards,
GtG
