The sweet sound of a 12 gauge chambering a round in the dark... I did know of person who kept a smallish, but powerful crossbow kind of thing. He demonstrated it and it looked very effective. Unless your assailant is packing.

Um...that’s a Jewish thing? I don’t feel particularly at ease in a deep “urban” environment myself, and I’ve been in a synagogue once in my life. Don’t see how playing army on the weekends will help that any.

You got that right. One of the toughest, smartest friends I have is a Jewish man raised in NYC. He doesn’t live there now. But I’d let him cover my back any day.

I read the other day the U.S. is going to allow about 10,000 Palestinians now living in Iraq to migrate here. Better be prepared.

In the 1990's we had the following in New York City
1. Crown Heights riots. This was essentially a pogrom on US soil.
2. Freddy's Fashion mart. Al Sharpton leads a crowds to drive a Jewish shop owner out of business. The store is then torched along with many inside.
3. In 1994, an Arab shot up a van full of Lubavitcher students on the Brooklyn Bridge. Fortunately, only 1 died.
4. In 1997 a "Palestinian" shot 7 people on the Empire State Building, while shouting about Jews.

Since 9-11, we have had the LA Airport shooting and the Seattle Jewish Center shooting.

I FINALLY got to go to Israel. Pretty much all the young adults were visibly armed. No worries about general street crime.

Congratulations; you’ve found 4 incidents in about 15 years. How many attacks on Jews in Israel during the same period? How many casualties?

If your point is to refute anything, you have not yet achieved it.

America has been Jew-friendly from the get-go, even if your mythology requires you to pretend otherwise.

There have been far more than 4. That is merely the few I could think of off the cuff. I am very happy to live in America. My maternal grandparents, both survivors of the Holocaust, spent their last 25 years in Malmo, Sweden. They saw things progress from graffiti to violence. Jewish Public school teachers are assaulted and forced to retire, only to be threatened with loss of disability pensions if they speak up. Jewish-owned shops are targeted and the police treat it like random vandalism. And even the dead cannot rest when funeral chapels are torched.

You seem to understand the danger of grievances, but not their intricacies. Past real percieved and mythologized insults by WASPs or nativists have been instrumental in keeping Jews and some other white ethnics voting for the left. But today, the real insults and violence comes from the left's pet groups and the elites facilitate this. Hence we have the Mark Green's of the world smugly ignoring the Crown Heights Pogrom by saying of the Hasidim; "They are not 'my kind of Jews'." And we have the Kennedy's importing the very people who displace working and lower middle class Irish Americans. Present grievances will move these groups to the right. Paramilitary training changes power dynamics and also creates an appreciation of weapons. Reliance on the government decreases and people try to get guns. Some may choose to move to Israel, but the rest will be American Jews and that is how we get them. Conservatives should join this not by targeting them as JEws, but as Americans who are in special threat by Jihadis. As an added bonus, it will drive the Obama administration, ADL, and SPLC nuts.
