In a sign of the effect the nationwide Tea Party movement is having on politics, both the Associated Press and Barack Obama mentioned throngs of protesters outside the Obama town hall meeting held this morning in Raleigh:
The welcome was in contrast to criticism Obama met as his motorcade made its way from the airport to Needham B. Broughton High School. Thick groups of protesters held signs that said "Obamacare is Socialism," "Politicians + Health Care Disaster," and "Hands Off Our Health Care."
In an ad lib from his prepared remarks, Obama mentioned the protesters he saw in Raleigh on his way to the town hall:
"There were some folks cheering, and then were some folks with some signs."
When your opponents acknowledge you, you know you're being effective. Good job Raleigh tea partiers!

As long as the crowds are majority white.....I believe he gets satisfaction out of his own power to inflict discomfort on this "targeted group".
This is just the beginning. Do you wonder if he'd sits in that limo thinking, one day you people will be jailed for such actions.....
Yeah, there might also be "some folks" in DC this September...
The people who have actually read the bill (unlike Barry) and actually know what is in it?
This guy has no credibility whatsoever...
We need our version of Cindy Sheehan & Gang to hang out at Martha’s Vineyards while they are on vacation.
Never attend a tea party without a video camera ... We want video.

Good job Raleigh! Run this Chicago thug out of town!
Very well stated. Can’t wait ‘til ‘Stage 4’. ;-)
So the MSM evidently didn’t comment on the protesters? Well imagine that!
Kristinn, the obvious question that ANY responsible journalist would have asked Obama is, “If there are so many opposed to this system, why aren’t you inviting them INSIDE to talk about it as well?”
Wa Po is reporting with glee that 6 protesters showed up.
LOL! I guess you could say that's an understatement :-)
In strikingly defensive terms, the president acknowledged opposition is growing. A large and boisterous clutch of protesters greeted him at Raleigh's Needham B. Broughton High School with signs reading, "Obamacare is Socialism," "Stop Lying," and "Politicians + Health Care = Disaster."
"As I was driving in, there were some folks cheering, and there were some folks with signs," he chuckled to knowing laughter in a largely friendly audience.
I guess now they can say they did their job.
