Americans Support Ron Paul Plan to Audit the Federal Reserve
AllGov ^ | August 01, 2009

A plan to open the Federal Reserve to the same scrutiny that almost all other federal government operations endure is overwhelmingly supported by the American people, according to a new poll by Rasmussen Reports. The survey found that 75% of Americans favor auditing the Fed and publicizing the results. The same kind of support can be found in Congress, where members on the left and right who rarely come together are supporting the change.

A House bill by libertarian congressman and former presidential candidate Ron Paul (R-TX) would give the Government Accountability Office the power to examine the books of the national bank, whose leaders object to the idea, arguing that it would compromise the Fed’s independence. H.R. 1207 has 281 cosponsors who span the political spectrum from leftist Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) to arch-conservative Michelle Bachmann (R-MN).

The fed has done such a wonderful job of protecting America’s wealth and currency since 1913.What would we do without them?

How about more accuracy.

"Americans support plan to Audit the Federal Reserve, despite sponsorship by Ron Paul."

Ha, that will only expose what the bureaucrats in Washington don’t want you to know about, I think the fed is unconstitutional and always has been. I doubt with the Chicago thugs now in office and the rats in control of the legislator that congressman. Paul will get any traction on this, not when there is still so much of the tax payers monies to be looted.

Yeah, you’re right. Why believe the guy who was correct about this whole gigantic mess from the get-go. Just keep your faith in the rest of them who didn’t have the guts to say what he’s been saying for decades now....

If the American people ever realized that the Federal Reserve creates our entire monetary base by issuing loans, at interest, to the federal government, there would be a revolt. Especially if they found out that the Federal Reserve is just typing this new debt money into existence on a computer.

So by printing Federal Reserve notes to purchase bond...Oooo, a new American Idol is on soon. Will Paula return as a judge? < /massive cynicism about the American populous>

In 96 years the only thing the Fed has done is wipe out over 95% of the value of the dollar. Just a little more than 4 to go. Can they hit it by their 100th birthday?

I realize you’re joking but you don’t get good twofers in a Socialist Society. You get two minusers. See Iran trials.

Many of you have probably seen G. Edward Griffin's video, ‘Creature from Jekyll Island’ or read his book on the same subject. My take is that our government and the Fed are the two most corrupt and criminal groups in America and maybe the world. For 96 years these two groups have been fleecing Americans, through the evils of inflation, of their earnings and savings. At the same time reaping huge profits, some of which are probably illegal. If this systematic process of monetary deceit and destruction does not end soon, we will all be living in a serfdom controlled by money robber barons. In my opinion, we are close to that scenario now. It is important that the Fed be audited and reveals how our government and the Fed, working in collusion have created a potentially disastrous situation
