A Month in the life of George W. Bush (News and photos)August2009
White House archives ^ | August 1, 2009

Posted on 08/01/2009 3:36:02 PM PDT by Kaslin

It is now going on eight month since President Bush has left office. I thank God for the time he was our President and kept us save after the horrible day on September 11, 2001

For this month thread I will post the August photos from 2001 - 2004. The quote of the day will be President Bush’s announcement on the Patients’ Bill Of Rights, which I find very appropriate being what will face us if the democrat’s health care bill passes and becomes law

One of the items on my “bucket list” (things to do before I kick the bucket) is to shake President Bush’s hand and say “thank you”.

You are very welcome.

He does indeed have class, unlike the pretender that now sits now in the People's House

Oh my what fabulous pictures of a truly fabulous man. As I scanned down I kept thinking “oh this is my favorite” until getting to the next. A real man who was never guided by polls.

Fortunately, President Bush’s ‘Charge to Keep’ continues:

(LEAD) EX-U.S. PRESIDENT BUSH ARRIVES IN S. KOREA
[includes a nice photo of the President bringing smiles (per usual) to the faces of those greeting him at the airport!]

SEOGWIPO, South Korea, July 31 (Yonhap) — Former U.S. President George W. Bush arrived in South Korea Friday to speak on the worldwide economic crisis and the importance of ratifying a free trade deal between the two nations, organizers said Friday.

LAURA BUSH GIVES MICHELLE OBAMA A THUMBS-UP — (MSM SPIN)
[a beautiful photo of Laura is included]
By Pat Eaton-Robb

The headline should have emphasized the following:

Friday’s ceremony was held to turn command of the Texas over to Cmdr. Robert Roncska. Roncska, dubbed “Navy Bob” by President Bush, was the naval aide to the former president from 2006 to 2008. He also accompanied the first lady on a trip to Afghanistan. In his speech Friday, HE CALLED THE BUSHES “THE GREATEST PRESIDENT AND FIRST LADY EVER.” . . . I couldn’t agree more!

BUSH QUIETLY SAVED A MILLION AFRICAN LIVES
BY Paul Kengor
August 9-22, 2009 Issue | Posted 7/31/09 at 9:45 AM

. . . And as someone who has closely followed Bush’s humanitarian gesture from the outset, I’m not surprised that the former president continues to not receive the accolades he deserves — including even from conservative supporters — for this generous act.

Bush himself realizes the lack of gratitude and media attention. I personally witnessed it very recently, on June 17, when I was in attendance for one of Bush’s first postpresidential speeches, in Erie, Pa. There, too, he mentioned the AIDS initiative — even adding that one of his daughters is in Africa today, working on the epidemic — and, there again, it received no press coverage whatsoever.

GEORGE W BUSH STILL AN EARLY BIRD
July 29, 2009 04:32 PM ET
By Paul Bedard, Washington Whispers

Retirement hasn’t had any impact on former President George W. Bush’s internal clock. Just as when he was in Washington, associates say he rises early and gets to his Dallas office virtually every day at 7 a.m. And he stays until midafternoon. What’s there to do for eight hours? He splits his time working on his White House memoir, raising money for his presidential library and museum, and drafting those highly paid speeches that pay the rent.

Natalie Solis
(video included)

LEWISVILLE, Texas - Diamond jewelry, gold swords, Cartier watches, a signed Jimmie Johnson NASCAR helmet, and a baseball bat autographed by all the living Hall of Famers through 2001 are just some of the items that mark the George W. Bush presidency.

Thanks for all the wonderful photos. They bring back such good memories about a gracious and caring President and his lovely family.

This was also very refreshing because I didn’t have to see anything that had to do with the Liar-in-Chief!

As a Houstonian who lives in what we call “Bush Country” I was a bit dismayed by his lame duck years yet he truly did what he thought was right and earned the respect of many people.

“W” was an Honorable man and served the country well.

Thank You “W”

Zerobama might be liked better overseas, but I am convinced that President Bush was more respected.

You know, Kaslin, I think the only people overseas who "like" Obama more than Bush are our enemies, and the hard core leftists (redundant?).

President Bush was both respected AND liked by everyone who mattered. I'll bet a whole lot of people around the world would love to have him back............just like we would.
