Four to Five days of sales do not a month make. Pulling ahead sales doesn’t help the near future.

Short term, not likely. Long term, I think Ford is positioned well. I bought a few shares at 2.50. When I saw it at 8.50 today, I was tempted to sell, but held on.

Cash for Clunkers

A very apt description of the Obama administration

We give Obama all our cash, and he gives government clunkers in return!

Long before this concocted government scheme, the Ford F-150 was and is the best selling vehicle in American history.

Ford is going ahead as Government Motors is ready to turn out undesireable clunkers. Ford is now free to turn out what the public wants and if they do their homework, now is a MAJOR OPPORTUNITY.

Ford is blowing an opportunity here.

There are many who would support a company that refused government money.

I guess they have lost me.

Probably not, folks are pulling ahead a planned purchase.
Second, there are only so many junkers at the salvage yard that can be driven to a car dealer

I think Ford is positioned to survive in the long run. They have cut costs, are strong in Europe, and have a nice stable of cars.

For GM there is no long run. They have effectively been dead for about 3 years. ("Weekend at Bernies")
