Republican district. Suzanne Kosmas beat Tom Feeney last year because he was, by his own admission, tied to Jack Abramoff. She ran as a fiscal conservative, which promise, of course, she has broken by her Obama-Pelosi voting record.

Was that when Holtz suspended the three players before the Arkansas/Oklahoma game in the Orange Bowl?

Yes. 1978 Orange Bowl. Arkansas 31 - #2 Oklahoma 6 (in case anyone forgot) ;-)

The NAACP began an economic boycott of South Carolina in 2000 when the flag flew atop the Statehouse dome. The state’s highest profile coaches at the time _ South Carolina’s Lou Holtz and Eddie Fogler, and Clemson’s Tommy Bowden and Larry Shyatt _ marched in support of the flag coming down.

Lou is no longer welcome in South Carolina.

dj,
I am supposed to be putting on a presentation to the members of a pro-family PAC tomorrow. Regarding campaign 2010.

I have political burnout. Conservatives in New England need an enthusiastic field marshal.

I’ll hafta read Lou’s motivationals.

I hope he wins the seat...and still has time for his sports-commentator gig.

Speaking of New England Conservatives, I just finished writing this a few minutes ago...
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2308084/posts?page=38#38

Yeah, I could strap on my pointy WW1 helmet and do some kiester-ramming with it to motivate the troops... Of course, I’m probably a bit too profane to address one of those family-friendly organizations. =8-0

But, the one piece of advice to give is to be bold and courageous, don’t shrink. If we’re on the Lord’s side, we’re in the right. Don’t apologize for being right... and for heaven’s sake... CHARGE !

we have plenty of conservative candidates running. But they don’t get much help at all; no political activism, no $$$. The “RINO grassroots” is those folks who write the big checks to RINO candidates.

In much of New England, the only thing stopping conservatives is their disinterest. (And the fact that the voting demographics, etc., are real bad.)

Connecticut
Himes dodges serious challenge

National Republican Congressional Committee chairman Pete Sessions boasted yesterday that the party was poised to put 80 Democratic-held House seats in play next year — but today, his task of unseating Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.) just got much harder.

Connecticut State Senate Minority Leader John McKinney, the GOP’s leading recruit against Himes, told the Greenwich Time that he decided not to run for Congress, citing family concerns

THIS IS BAD NEWS FOR THE GOP, GREAT NEWS FOR CONSERVATIVES

Yeah, and look what all that "RINO power" has gotten us... a zero-member House delegation in an entire region. That's why they need to be run out of the party. Conservatives are disinterested because they're treated like garbage by these liberal thugs. But the GOP is the only viable vehicle to use to win, short of the arduous process of forming an Independent Conservative party. But Conservatives have got to take over the local party apparatii right down to the lowest levels and build upwards (since the top-down approach hasn't worked here).

mart move, 1 term and he gets that Congressional Health Care for life instead of that death camp Obama Care we’ll be stuck with.

No he doesn't. After 2 years he wouldn't get squat.

No he doesn't. After 2 years he wouldn't get squat. You need to serve for considerably longer than that to get vested for any congressional pension benefit.

If McKinney is anything like his dad, it’s no great loss. Now’s the time to run REAL change reform Conservative candidates.

Interesting.

Tom Rooney the guy that beat that rat in the Foley seat is a member of the family that owns the NFL Pittsburgh Steelers. The team owner Dan Rooney, Tom’s Uncle, gave to his campaign. But he’s no conservative himself. He’s famous for a rule that requires black candidates to be talked to every time there is an NFL coaching vacancy. And he’s now Obama’s ambassador to Ireland.

this is now a great opp for conservatives because several of the GOP politicos in that district who’ve been waiting for McKinney ... are acceptable conservatives.

I am the Connecticut field marshal for social conservatives. Call me “fieldmarshalpj”. Should I change my screen-name here to that?
