"fluoride added to a million parts water could cut tooth decay by as much as 40%"

I do not believe that statistic but even if it is true government shouldn't be adding drugs to our water. My mom is allergic to Fluoride she can not drink fluoridated water she brakes out in a nasty rash.

I don't know Mr. Dunn but why does a this guy use a group think argument "fluoride in water" and not having to be accountable to the people (birthers) as his argument to hurt conservatives?

Is he McCain's brother or something?

You need to follow what I said from post 18. Your response is out of context to my point, but you are correct. Thx.

Sorry if you feel I said give up, but the war is much bigger than the BC issue at this point. A time will come for it, but the many talented people who have researched, investigated it, and had the money enough to get it to court are needed for other battles.

I don’t understand. You say that the people who pursued this question through the legal process are needed for other battles? I don’t intend to be sarcastic, but my first thought upon reading that comment was who are you?

It sounded as though you are a general involved in directing stratagy in a battle. You did not identify what other battles you are talking about and I think that the people who felt strongly enough about this to invest their resources in the attmpt are the best judges of their focus.

Also, what is more important than determining whether Barack Obama, who seemed to come out of nowhere with an extremely shallow resume, is now in the Oval Office?

Like I said, I don’t understand your position.

I’m with you. I’ll be damned if I’ll accept the trashing of our Constitution anymore. By allowing a usurper to take down our Country the socialists in our Country are winning. And when it no longer matters even to conservative Constitutional attorneys we’re done. This was not an issue our Founders took likely but that attitude is loosing ground as evidenced here.

Actually, this author is exhibiting the same wrong-headed beliefs as the Birthers concerning water fluoridation.

Modern science indicates that ingesting fluoride is ineffective at reducing tooth decay, harmful to health and a waste of money.

New York City spent $24 million dollars in 2008 on fluoridation. And fluoride chemicals, alone, have climbed up $4.4 million since then. Yet tooth decay is rampant in NYC populations studied.

Over 2,550 professionals urge the US Congress to stop water fluoridation until Congressional hearings are conducted, citing scientific evidence that fluoridation, long promoted to fight tooth decay, is ineffective and has serious health risks. See statement: http://www.fluorideaction.org/statement.august.2007.html.

Also, eleven Environmental Protection Agency employee unions representing over 7000 environmental and public health professionals called for a moratorium on drinking water fluoridation programs across the country, and have asked EPA management to recognize fluoride as posing a serious risk of causing cancer in people.

Last election day, 53 US cities rejected fluoridation joining a growing list of communities saying “No,” to fluoridation. (1) July 21, 2009, Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada legislators rejected the hard push for fluoridation. (1b)

— The Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment, Canada’s leading voice on environmental health issues, released a statement opposing fluoridation.

— May 2009, Great Lakes United (GLU) supports the end of water fluoridation. GLU is made up organizations representing environmentalists, conservationists, hunters and anglers, labor unions, community groups, and citizens of the United States, Canada, and First Nations and Tribes.

— The National Kidney Foundation dropped its fluoridation support replacing it with this caution: “Individuals with CKD [Chronic Kidney Disease] should be notified of the potential risk of fluoride exposure.”

— Researchers reporting in the Oct 6 2007 British Medical Journal indicate that fluoridation never was proven safe or effective and may be unethical.

— “A qualitative review of ...studies found a consistent and strong association between the exposure to fluoride and low IQ,” concluded Tang el al., in “Fluoride and Children’s Intelligence: A Meta-analysis” in Biological Trace Element Research

— Scientific American editors wrote in January 2008, “Some recent studies suggest that over-consumption of fluoride can raise the risks of disorders affecting teeth, bones, the brain and the thyroid gland”

— Dr. A. K. Susheela, a leading fluoride expert, explains in a video why US physicians overlook fluoride as a possible cause of diseases commonly caused by fluoride. http://tinyurl.com/Susheela

— A study in the Fall 2008 Journal of Public Health Dentistry reveals that cavity-free teeth have little to do with fluoride intake. Researchers report, “The benefits of fluoride are mostly topical…while fluorosis is clearly more dependent on fluoride intake.”

— Research published in Biological Trace Element Research (April 2009). indicates that blood fluoride levels were significantly higher in patients with osteosarcoma than in control groups. (13) Osteosarcoma, a rare bone cancer, occurs mostly in children and young adults

A Tennessee State legislator who is also an MD is urging all Tennessee Water Districts to stop fluoridation, reported a Tennessee newspaper on 11/29/08. At least 30 Tennessee water districts have already complied with his request.

On 1/5/09, the Burlington Board of Health recommended that Burlington cease fluoridation because fluoridation can harm some people.

British Columbia (Canada) communities which have discontinued fluoridating their water include:
Mackenzie, Squamish, Smithers, Port Hardy, Kitimat, Kimberly, Kelowna, Kamloops, Gold River, Golden, Courtney/Comox, Campbell River and Burns Lake.

Nobel Prize winner in Medicine, Dr. Arvid Carlsson, says, “Fluoridation is against all principles of modern pharmacology. It’s really obsolete.”
