Obama's environmental czar started group targeting Beck

President Obama's "green jobs czar" is co-founder of a black activist organization that has led a campaign prompting major advertisers to withdraw from Glenn Beck's top-rated Fox News Channel program.

In recent weeks, Beck has done several critical segments about Van Jones, who was appointed as the special adviser for green jobs, enterprise and innovation at the White House Council on Environmental Quality.

Now Colors of Change, an activist organization seeking to "strengthen Black America's political voice" has led a furious campaign against Beck culminating in major companies such as Geico and Lawyers.com pulling their spots from the Fox News star's daily show. The group also says it has garnered about 75,000 signatories for an online petition against Beck to be sent to advertisers.

“I AM so SICK AND TIRED of the democrats USING MY MONEY AND YOUR MONEY to pay for PARTISAN CITIZENS to SPREAD ONE MANTRA-uhbama’s.”

You’ve got to admit, it’s one hell of a scam...

Democrats give your tax money to partisan-run “Non-Profits”, which use the money to elect Democrat Candidates, which are promoting things against your interests, all the while pocketing a VERY nice percentage of it in “Fees” and salaries.

Every liberal Moron in DC has a “Non-Profit Issues Group”, and they funnel slush money through these things by THE BILLIONS, now.

Yep, don’t listen to the idiotic “play nice” proponents. I’m sure if Beck called the racist a racist a hundred times during every show, Beck would HELP, not hurt, the “conservative movement”. History - if it sucks, don’t repeat it.

That is inflammatory and hurts the entire conservative movement.

What you seem to be advocating is to only say something that the media can't take and use against you. The media is our enemy, period. Better to just say what's on your mind. Now is not the time to go soft. This one little utterance of Beck's will not "hurt the entire conservative movement."

To the contrary, the Town Hall's have greatly HELPED the conservative movement. And these Town Hall's have been all about speaking your mind, resisting this fascist Congress and fascist administration, no matter how incendiary you may have to be, in order to get your voice heard and your point made.

More on the above....

Look at this clown’s “Ella Baker Center” green Jobs initiative.

“What Is the Oakland Green Jobs Corps?

The Oakland Green Jobs Corps will be a complete job training pathway for Oakland residents with barriers to employment. It will provide wraparound services including case management, soft skills, hard skills, and vocational training. Participants will finish the program with paid internships in renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. The Oakland Green Jobs Corps will be based on the “Pinderhughes Model”, which was developed by Professor Raquel Pinderhughes. This “Green Collar Jobs” model can be accessed online through Raquel Pinderhughes’ personal website.

The Oakland Green Jobs Corps is expected to launch in early 2008, using seed funding provided by Oakland City Council.

The Oakland Green Jobs Corps will be administered by the City of Oakland’s Community and Economic Development Agency (CEDA). There will be a Request for Proposals (RFP), inviting workforce training institutions or other educational institutions to competitively apply for the funding. Before the RFP is available for applications, it will undergo a six-month design process, inviting input from the public on how it should be designed.

The money from the City of Oakland is considered “seed funding.” It will require some matching funds from a workforce-training program, and will also require other long-term sources of funding after 2007”

They get TAX MONEY from Oakland to train people for “Green Jobs”, whatever the hell that means, then they get FEDERAL MATCHING MONEY.

All the while, this clown pays himself a nice, tidy salary out of YOUR MONEY, and pockets “Consultant Fees and expenses” on top of it. And this type of scam permeates out inner-cities, all funded by our own cash.

“Beck called Obama a racist on national TV”

What part of HE IS A RACIST, do you not understand?

And Obama himself exposed that to MILLIONS of the sheeple watching live on National TV, in prime time, with his “cops acted stupidly” comment. He is surrounded by outright racists, as well.

To be afraid to describe something as EXACTLY what it is what these people WANT you to be afraid of.

I think someone should ask this question at one of their town meetings and record it - Who gave BO authority to hire czars on the taxpayers dime?

Seriously, what the heck is a czar and isn’t this unconstitutional?

oh NO... Rush can't take a vacation??

maybe you need to send a message to BHussein Obama who is on vacation and will head to Martha Vineyard for more vacation...How about Congress...they work maybe 30 days a year for over $180K

Rush puts in three hours a day of good talk, and many hours prepping for it so if he wants a day off or a week off, he deserves it.

Obama is a racist! Since when is it wrong to call someone what they are? It certainly doesn’t matter to anyone when Sarah Palin is called every name in the book when none of it is true!

I am not going to be a wimp and let these people run over me any longer. I am going to fight them the way they fight...DIRTY! We always lose because we don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. TOUGH. It doesn’t work!

You either fight on their level or you lose!

Jones said his environmental activism was a way to fight for racial and class “justice.” Jones was also “a founder and leader of the communist revolutionary organization Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement, or STORM,” WND reported. (Green really is the new red.)

The group’s co-founder James Rucker gloats in an op-ed at the Huffington Post that Progressive Insurance and several other advertisers have dropped Beck’s show since Color of Change started promoting a boycott. Of course it’s not all that surprising that Progressive Insurance dropped Beck. After all, the company was founded by left-wing philanthropist Peter B. Lewis.

Rucker is a former MoveOn.org organizer. He is also a co-founder of the Secretary of State Project, the group that helped to elect Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie. Ritchie, a former community organizer who has worked hand in hand with ACORN, helped set the stage for Sen. Al Franken (D-ACORN) to steal the 2008 Senate election in Minnesota.

Now that Van Jones is in the news all the time, Color of Change doesn’t want you to know he helped start the group. Maybe having an avowed America-hating totalitarian radical on the group’s board is bad public relations.

The group deleted references to Jones on its “about” page. That page used to say, “James Rucker and Van Jones came together in the wake of [Hurricane] Katrina to use the organizing power of the Internet to give Black Americans and our allies a renewed and strengthened political voice.”

But now it doesn’t.

Color of Change invited people to sign a petition to spare the life of convicted multiple murder Stanley Tookie Williams.

It should also surprise no one that Jones was a senior fellow at John Podesta’s left-wing think tank/activist group, the Center for American Progress.

PLEASE TELL ME EXACTLY WHAT ANY OF THIS HAS ACCOMPLISHED?!!!! Except to send taxpayer’s dollars to HIS POCKET?!

WE ARE BEING SCREWED BY A BUNCH OF CON MEN!!! “Green jobs” my *ss! NAME ONE!!!

******

In 2005, Van produced the “social equity track” for the United Nations’ World Environment Day 2005 summit, which was themed “Green Cities: Plan for the Planet.” As a result of Van’s advocacy, the resulting Accords called upon the world’s mayors to: “Adopt a policy or implement a program that creates environmentally beneficial jobs in slums and/or low-income neighborhoods.” The adoption of these accords marked the beginning of the global movement for “green jobs.”

In 2007, Van helped the City of Oakland pass a “Green Jobs Corps” proposal. The City allocated funds to train Oakland residents in eco-friendly “green-collar jobs.”

At the national level, Van worked successfully in 2007 with U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), U.S. Rep. Hilda Solis (D-CA), U.S. Rep. John Tierney (D-Mass.) to pass the Green Jobs Act of 2007. That path-breaking, historic legislation authorized $125 million in funding to train 35,000 people a year in “green-collar jobs.”

In 2008, Green for All partnered with the Al Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection to launch the Green For All Academy. The Academy trains U.S. grassroots leaders to effectively advocate for an inclusive, green economy.

Also starting in 2008, Van began serving on the Committee to Engage African Americans in Climate Change, sponsored by the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies.

On September 27, 2008, Green For All worked with national partners to produce “Green Jobs Now” – the first-ever “national day of action” calling for green-collar jobs in the United States. More than 600 communities in all 50 states participated, with more than 50,000 signing a petition that called for federal government action to spur green jobs.

In 1996, Van co-founded the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, which advocates for juvenile justice reform, police reform, youth violence prevention and green-collar jobs. The Center’s “Books Not Bars” campaign has successfully blocked construction of a super-jail for youth, closed two abusive youth prisons and helped to reduce California’s youth prison population by 30 percent.

In the wake of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Van co-founded Color Of Change with James Rucker. Boasting 400,000 members, Color of Change has become the nation’s biggest online advocacy organization that focuses on African-American issues.

Van is also a co-founder of a new national coalition that promotes the idea of a national “Clean Energy Jobs Corps.” This multi-billion-dollar federal initiative would put hundreds of thousands of people to work rewiring and retrofitting the energy infrastructure of the United States.

Additionally, Van is a founding board member of the National Apollo Alliance and 1Sky, two national organizations promoting clean energy jobs and climate solutions.

So people who don’t agree with you should be ashamed of themselves? Look ashamed.

Well going against advice I sometimes give about rolling around in the mud with pigs will get you muddy as well, but I could not but help to take extreme exception to your statement. The poster you responded to said nothing about someone who doesn't agree with him being ashamed, but those that do not stand up for others who are out there standing up for all of us should be ashamed - Beck whether you like him or not stands up for freedom and our Constitution and the principles this country was founded on and takes extreme heat for doing so. It makes me ashamed that I am not doing as much as he does, that I don't put myself fully out there on the line each day as he does. Beck has nothing to be ashamed about, we need many more like him.

I sent an email to GEICO earlier and got back a statement that said that they do not take positions even though they took a position....

I am in the market for new auto insurance and probably would have gone with GEICO, but I don’t care how much money they’d save me they are not getting any of mine.

It has nothing to do with agreeing or disagreeing with me.

I just wish that people in general would be nicer. Offering sympathy to others is basic human kindness.

Beck is just calling a spade, a spade. Anytime anyone disagrees with Obozo, they are called racists. We disagree with our congress people and we are called Nazis. The left can say anything anytime and I think it's time we, the right, started shooting back with the same ammunition that is being fired at us. Turning the other cheek with this regime, will just get you thrown in a gulag like the Communists are known for doing. Bring a knife to a knife fight, bring a gun to a gun fight, bring a tank to tank, eye for a eye and we just may save our country from the Obozo/Marx regimes.

Progressive Insurance is already far left. They already didn’t want advertising going to Glenn Beck. GEICO is a subsidiary of Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway. This is no shock.
