On Wednesday, August 12, a man holding a sign that said “Death to Obama†at a town hall meeting in Maryland was detained and turned over to the Secret Service for questioning, which is pursuing an investigation into charging him with threatening the president.
As well they should. I fully and absolutely agree with this arrest, since anyone who threatens the president is breaking the law and should be prosecuted. It doesn’t matter that Obama was not at the meeting nor that the man was unarmed: the threat all on its own is a federal crime, according to the United States Code.
I support the arrest and prosecution of any person who threatens Obama or any president of the United States.
But the story of this arrest got me to thinking: Why was no one ever arrested for threatening President Bush at protests, when they displayed signs in public that called for his death?
Many readers may naively think, “The answer is obvious: no protester was ever arrested for threatening Bush at a protest because no one ever threatened him at a protest. Who would be that stupid? I certainly never heard of any such threats.â€
Alas, if only it were that simple. Because the bald fact is that people threatened Bush at protests all the time

Let’s review just a few of the Democrat Party tactics: They spent the first four years calling President Bush “illegitimate”, grown men and women in Congress (and the MSM) told Americans everyday that this President STOLE an election, they deliberately fostered hate and fear, knowing it was a lie. Nancy spent the last four years saying nothing but “failure, failure, failure.” It got to the point where Ring Around The Collar was Bush’s fault. She, Obama, and Harry Reid declared the Iraq war LOST, all to score political points and turn Iraq into another Vietnam that the Democrats could run against for another 30 years.
They stole our troops honor in death, and stole their victories. The entire Valerie Plame “scandal” was made up out of whole cloth by the Kerry campaign, in conjunction with David Corn. It planted the “Bush lied” meme that Democrats rode all the way through the 2006 elections. Then they pulled the Dan Rather bull with the fake TANG memos to try to nail George W. Bush. Ray Nagin refused to call a mandatory evacuation of New Orleans, left 200 school buses unused, and made no contingency plans for getting people out of the Superdome or the Convention Center after Katrina. But Reid was right there to blame Bush.
No terrorist attacks on U.S. soil since 9/11. But all the Dems says is “we are not safer” and the media laps it up. Not to mention that after 9/11 ....SENATOR HILLARY CLINTON HOLDING UP A FRONT PAGE OF A NEWSPAPER, ON THE UNITED STATES SENATE FLOOR...SAYING BUSH KNEW! They started websites, made movies, wore T-shirts, ran protests with hanging effigies and Hitler photo shops constantly in order to destroy the President and the Vice President of the United States.
Now they have foisted an anti-American President on us...who sat in an anti-American racist church with his children for 20 years, and a man who has friends in the WeatherUnderground. This political party proved they will lie, publish forged documents, and try to lose a war in order to gain power.
There is nothing easier than telling the guy you just beat that he should forget the depths you plumbed to do so.
We remember “Jesusland”. And if you have a few hours, scroll through Malkin’s “Bush Derangement Syndrome” archive. We remember everything - being called racist warmongers, & Christianist nutbags.
They spent the last eight years engaged in a disgusting orgy of divisive political hatred. When we asked them to unite for the country it was in the course of a shooting war with an enemy who would like to kill us all. They told us to stuff it.
This goes deep and hot and I will not yield on this one. Jonah Goldberg wrote on NRO that the Democrats have spent the last eight years blackmailing the country: give us power or we will destroy America. We’ll stab the troops in the back, leak classified intelligence, block George Bush at every turn, loudly protest and bring things to a halt, do our best to drive the economy into the ground and make this country a smoldering ruin until you let us win.
I will laugh at every stumble Hussein makes, applaud his mistakes and cheer his enemies. I want him to spend the next four years cowering in a corner while our economy crashes and burns and our enemies kick his bony ass. I want him to leave office a broken man. And I want every disloyal asshole who voted for him to share his pain. These rotten bastards poisoned the well for the last eight years, and I want them to choke on it now. *No* bipartisanship, *no *compromise, *no* surrender *
We must create doubt. Question his judgment. Support his opponents. Ridicule his errors. Mitigate his successes with suggestion of unintended consequences. Refuse to praise his work. Challenge his advocates when they advocate; don’t let them own the conversation. Speak to personal liberty; it’s fertile ground.

You won’t do it, but if you did, you would find that you’re full of baloney.
That’s the difference between Bush and Obama. Bush was willing to take some risks as he was a proponent of free speech. Obama, on the other hand, wants only to hear from his worshippers. All others are to be silenced.

The left-wing State-run news media only reports on bad things that their opponents do. They never report the misdeeds of their own. I thought we had a Constitutional right to a free press. The liberal’s co-opting of 99% of the news media has taken this right from us. But what can we do about it?? The situation has been like this since at least the 1960’s or 1970’s, so the answer would seem to be “not much”. Foxnews, a smal number of news papers, and talk radio are the only places conservatives seem to have been able to hold on, and make sure the whole story is told. The other 99% of the media/government is doing their level best to shut THAT down too.

Things are actually a lot better now than they were 20/30 years ago IMO. One of the primary goals of a conquering force is to make people feel like resistance is futile; instill pessimism. But there are a lot of educated people today. People were always instinctively conservative, but now there are a lot of educated conservatives. They can only operate in a total information vacuum, and they’re not going to have it.
In terms of media propaganda, we need to find a way to apply Alinsky - pick the target, polarize it. They hide behind the idea that these are just independent companies operating as normal businesses, so there’s no one thing to go after. Anyone with half an ounce of sense can see the fact that they are operating as a single operation

Well, the 99% of the media DOES do a good job of instilling pessimism and futility at times, at least from my point of view. So, who do we Alinsky-ize then?? George Soros?? And how?? The small section of the media we do have access to already does that, and quite well too. It doesn't seem to have much affect however, when one's perspective is derived from living in the SF Bay Area!!
