It looks to me like he’s helping to set the stage for a world court, complete with laws which we “as citizens of the world” must abide by. and of course, we’ll have to have a czar, a caesar, to be in charge, and there you have it
They naively believe they’ll be the one Roman Catholic Church with the Pope ruling. It won’t happen.
Yes, but what will happen will be some mish mash of all the world’s religions like the UN has now, rumored to be led by either Lucifer or Gaia (or maybe they’ll worship one on odd days, one on even) with 10 commandments composed by humanity for humanity
Well dear brother in Christ, maybe that's because you are reading Pope Benedict as if he were a politician. He is not a politician. He is among other things a world-class philosopher and spiritual leader.
Moreover, he doesn't aspire to being Caesar. This is perhaps the most ancient slander against the Roman Church. It's right up there with The Protocols of the Elders of Zion in the category of "urban legends that will not die" in my estimation. It is simply mindless.
I daresay all he wants is to be God's, and to tell God's Truth, to be an instrument in the hands of the Lord, according to His Love and Will.
From the encyclical Caritas in Veritate:
Because it is filled with truth, charity can be understood in the abundance of its values, it can be shared and communicated. Truth, in fact, is logos which creates dia-logos, and hence communication and communion. Truth, by enabling men and women to let go of their subjective opinions and impressions, allows them to move beyond cultural and historical limitations and to come together in the assessment of the value and substance of things. Truth opens and unites our minds in the logos of love: this is the Christian proclamation and testimony of charity. In the present social and cultural context, where there is a widespread tendency to relativize truth, practising charity in truth helps people to understand that adhering to the values of Christianity is not merely useful but essential for building a good society and for true integral human development. A Christianity of charity without truth would be more or less interchangeable with a pool of good sentiments, helpful for social cohesion, but of little relevance. In other words, there would no longer be any real place for God in the world. Without truth, charity is confined to a narrow field devoid of relations. It is excluded from the plans and processes of promoting human development of universal range, in dialogue between knowledge and praxis....Caritas in Veritate is not a political programme. The Church does not have technical solutions to offer and does not claim to interfere in any way in the politics of States. She does, however, have a mission of truth to accomplish, in every time and circumstance, for a society that is attuned to man, to his dignity, to his vocation. Without truth, it is easy to fall into an empiricist and sceptical view of life, incapable of rising to the level of praxis because of a lack of interest in grasping the values sometimes even the meanings with which to judge and direct it. Fidelity to man requires fidelity to the truth, which alone is the guarantee of freedom (cf. Jn 8:32) and of the possibility of integral human development. For this reason the Church searches for truth, proclaims it tirelessly and recognizes it wherever it is manifested. This mission of truth is something that the Church can never renounce. Her social doctrine is a particular dimension of this proclamation: it is a service to the truth which sets us free. Open to the truth, from whichever branch of knowledge it comes, the Church's social doctrine receives it, assembles into a unity the fragments in which it is often found, and mediates it within the constantly changing life-patterns of the society of peoples and nations. [emphasis added]
Rather, the Pope is at war with the culture of death, and has been so for a very long time now. He says this culture of death is the operating philosophy of the UN and the transnational institutions. He is asking for a conversion of hearts to Christ as the remedy for this horrific situation, where power goes unchecked by truth, where there is no love or reason in the souls of the men who wield that power, and poverty and suffering on a massive scale is the result. In what way does any of this make Benedict your enemy?
But perhaps you will say that Pope Benedict has suggested in some way that mankind can save himself, if he follows Catholic moral teaching. While you know that we are in the Endtimes already, and there's not a darned thing needed from human souls at this time because "the game is over already."
Two things about that:
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Matthew 24:36Meanwhile, human souls are never relieved of their duty to God, to love Him above all else, and each other as ourselves. Benedict calls us to Christian love which is to say, to a love that is not "sentimental," but is founded in God's Eternal Love, Truth, and Justice.
Another thing you might not know about this man is that he's had plenty of experience putting down insidious Marxist burrowings into the Church, via the Catholic brand of "social gospel" or "revolution theology." He's been extirpating these termites in the Body of the Church for decades now. He knows the enemy, and how it operates.
And you want to throw him under the bus?
Jeepers, please tell me WHY???
Only God can redeem the world. But that doesn't mean that human beings can just sit on their hands, anticipating our salvation: We have a positive duty at all times to God and to each other, to manifest the Truth of our Lord in our lives thus in our world.
I think that's what Benedict was trying to get across, in this beautiful encyclical.
Thank you ever so much, dear brother in Christ, for sharing your thoughts with me.
All praise and glory be to God!
You put your faith in mortal men no different than all those who blindly follow an Obama. You see you refuse to believe that the pope is a mere man, he is not your savior.
Well put.
GOOD GRIEF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHEN did I ever say that the Pope was my savior????????????.
Perish the thought!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where on earth did you ever get that idea from? 'Cause you certainly didn't get it from me!!!
Jeepers, 1000silverlings, I'm not even "technically" Catholic! I self-describe as an orthodox Christian.
I think the Pope naive believes that you can make pacts with the devil.
= = =
It seems difficult to impossible to me to read it any other way.
Seems difficult to read it any other way.
Certainly not with this world government already in power under the table and more and more overtly.
barf barf.
I have no great quibble with TRUTH IN LOVE in his document and see both as vital and connected of Christian Biblical necessity.
And I certainly appreciate your kind and substantive reply.
I’m all for his calling for such and for truth and justice etc.
What boggles my mind and still is unfathomable to me is that he also asserts that there needs to be a greater global authority.
There’s NO WAY that’s going to occur outside of the satanic global authority already in place and due to increase in power until literal Armageddon.
HE OUGHT TO KNOW THAT.
I can’t understand his asserting a need for that in this context. And I can’t just glibly rationalize those lines of the document away.
But that doesn't mean that human beings can just sit on their hands, anticipating our salvation: We have a positive duty at all times to God and to each other, to manifest the Truth of our Lord in our lives thus in our world. I think that's what Benedict was trying to get across, in this beautiful encyclical.
Our salvation was complete when Christ died for us, once, on the cross. We don't have to anticipate anything further.
The Truth is found in God, in Christ, not in man, not even one such as the pope.
I applaud your respect and trust in the pope since that is what you choose to believe, but, it is a choice, not necessarily a reality. He is just a man. We don't know what motivates him, as we are not privy to the real workings of the world at that level. But don't try and snow us that the pope is not a member of the elite.
Here's some balance.

I’ve learned a lot from Catholics on these posts. That’s where I get my opinion of what’s going on in the church. It’s been a real eye opener.
My husband and my pastor, his best friend from childhood, were brought up Catholic, went to Catholic school, and were Catholics until they were born again and left the Church.
Unfortunately when churchmen delve into a topic like world government and the 'profit' motive they're outside the realm granted them by Jesus Christ.
Those who believe Jesus didn't speak plainly, but like churchmen tend to speak today, are just deluding themselves.
Your comments are very useful and insightful.
In it Ridge says he was pressured to raise the threat level right before the election to scare the country into re-electing Bush. He says he considered quitting over it.
Of course, he didn't quit. He must have enjoyed the position and the paycheck.
What a phoney. They all want to be liked and invited to dinner parties. At least Cheney doesn't play that game.
