Like a child who wandered into an adult cocktail party and tried to seem precocious by mouthing clichés he doesn't really understand, Obama once again made a fool of himself as he did during the campaign when he told his rich backers in San Francisco about those bitter clingers to their religion and guns .

Just the loaves and fishes alone should bring in enough to pay off the national debt.

"For the record, Washington D.C. has many outlets selling good fresh food , including numerous well-attended farmers' markets selling locally grown produce .The President might have known this if he hadn't spent most of his feckless tenure jetting about the world apologizing for the "sins" of his country."

We just keep getting more and more evidence of the foolishness of electing to the most powerful office in the world someone who has never done anything except learn how to be a ruthless political climber.

I read that Michelle’s garden produce is tainted by lead.

How can they sell the produce from the WH garden when it is full of lead? It’s a biohazard.

Rather than run a veggie stand, why doesn’t he spend some time in the Oval Office actually working?

I’m thinking I’d rather have him running the veggie stand.

Also, why don’t we just buy them a farm in Iowa and let them play gentleman and gentlelady farmers. They can set up a roadside stand and everything. They can retire tomorrow and we can have some adults running the show (sadly, I’m actually thinking that Joe Biden is more of an adult than Obama).

Yes. I lived on Capital Hill in the early 1980’s. I walked to a local farmer’s market most Saturdays.

I’m sure there are several farms right next door to the White House. Their sales will be so high that the 0bama market will cover this year’s $1.8 trillion debt.

I don’t know which astonishes me more: The idiocy that comes out of his mouth, or the fawning press who reports it like it’s wisdom from Christ Himself?

I read that, too..and I read that someone unnamed blamed it on the Clinton’s use of “organic” sewer sludge instead of commercial fertilizer. But as to the latter the head gardener says the sludge was used long before the Clintons were in the White House and I read yet another story indicating that the lead issue had been remediated by adding additional soil and other materials to the garden.

Nevertheless, this is supposed to be a big p.r. coup and Michelle’s special thing and it is flopping big time.

Yes, I would put Biden’s name over Obama’s on any list that rates maturity, wisdom and /or knowledge of any type. I’ve never thought Obama was not intelligent, but raw gray matter means nothing if one does not possess wisdom, maturity and character.

We could certainly encourage them to do this though they have enough of their own money after all these years of “public service” Chicago style dipping in their beaks and I doubt without a staff of millions they could actually run a farm —or anything else.

There are farmers’ markets all over the place here, one of them four Metro stops from the White House at Eastern Market. You would have to go out of your way to avoid them. Also, all the supermarket chains here have “local produce” sections where you can buy stuff grown right here in the area (I recommend the tomatoes.) And if you’re really interesting, you can drive a few miles out into the country around DC metro area and pick your own stuff. What is the man babbling about?

I know they have their own money, but it would be cheaper for America to buy them a farm now, rather than to have the endless family entourage vacations.

I wanted to sell produce outside the Clarendon metro station, there are a lot of people hawking stuff sometimes, but my family thinks I’m going too far pinching pennies.

Michelle better sell her designer sneakers and pay the $500 registration fee that was included in the recently passed food safety bill.
