Invite your liberal friend to lunch or dinner. When the waitress brings his/her plate of food, take it and give it to some one at another table.

Make sure you criticize your friend's choice of food too. Tell him it's unhealthy and that he doesn't need to eat it.

When your plate arrives enjoy your meal while your liberal friend stares at you in disbelief.

When the check arrives hand it to him. Tell him he must pay all of it (including the plate you gave away) because he has the ability to pay for it and its the right thing to do.

If he protests- tell him he's being selfish and mean-spirited.

Walk out the door of the restaurant- go about your day.

I find that most Liberals are simply too put off by anything considered "Republican" or "Conservative". However, "Libertarian" is something that they can sometimes get into. Alot of Libertarians maintain that "anti-establishment" chic, so Liberals can still feel somewhat "cool" about it. Start them off with some libertarian leaning books by authors like Milton Friedman, Hayek, Thomas Kazlett, as well as others. Let that stuff sink into their heads before they go for more traditionally conservative stuff.

I can speak from experience that this works with Liberals, hey, it worked for me!
