In researching the Chappaquiddick tragedy, I noted 3 things that seem rather sinister:
1) Ted Kennedy had a driver, yet took his keys to his car from the driver and went driving with Mary Jo Kopechne!

2) The day before the accident, he went for a swim in that same area where he went off the bridge...

3) No autopsy was ever performed on Mary Jo Kopechne!

I totally disagreed with Ted Kennedy's politics, vioenlent so in fact!

But I cannot be a judge at the end of his life -- he will probably have a long time in Purgatory if he did receive the Sacrament of the Sick -- Last Rites -- as they used to be called.

Thanks for the ping 2ndDivisionVet.

My take on Ted...Hmmm...what to do here, what to do...ahh, delicately, carefully we must tread, so as not to step on the newly-laid doggie turds hidden in the green, green grass beneath our feet...so here goes...

As a Christian, I prayed for Ted’s soul. That is required. And I DO ask “May God have mercy on his soul” because we will ALL need that ultimately.

But that being said...

As a Christian, I ALSO pray for the souls of the hundreds of thousands of children who were murdered before their birth because of the genocidal abortion legislation that this odious, contemptible person (refuse to call him a “man”) forced through and supported...

And as a Christian, I also prayed for the souls of the countless numbers of women who were raped and murdered because they couldn’t carry a firearm for self-defense because of Victim Disarmament legislation that this odious, contemptible person forced through and supported...

And as a Christian, I also prayed for the soul of a young woman, choking out her last breath in absolute terror in a dark, cold, wet prison, all because she made the poor choice of trusting an odious, contemptible, loathesome person and he reacted true to form - leaving her there to die, while he saved himself and concocted a story to further save himself - and go on to THRIVE in spite of his crime.

As an American Man, I despise what that odious, contemptible person represented and the DELIBERATE, treasonous damage he and his useful idiots, fellow travelers, and “comrades” have done to my country, to my countrymen, to our heritage, our culture, and our future.

As a Man, and as an American, I despise what that odious, contemptible, and treasonous person did to undermine the security, safety, and continued existence of every man, woman, and child in this country but providing aid and comfort to the sworn enemies of America. He remained a committed, dedicated partisan bolshevik to the end of his life, and therefore an enemy of all that I love and hold dear. I will not miss him.

So in closing, I’ll just paraphrase what Marc Antony said; “I come to bury him (and all that he believed in), not to praise him.”

With all that said, RIP Ted, and per Cromwell and then later Churchill - “You’ve stayed here too long for any good that you may have done. In the name of God go - and let us have done with you.”

‘Bout sums it up...
LFOD

You are not accurate. The Bishop/ Archbishop has primacy in such matters. I’m not going to argue further with you about it though.

Some things are bigger than politics.

I hope his eternal soul finds peace.

If it had been Republicans acting that way, you could have found photos and videos much more quickly.

There remain many questions about the incident.

Most stem from a perception that the younger kennedy brother was given preferential treatment.

Most folks could draw the conclusion that the Senator was taking the young lady out to a secluded location. The turnoff would have been hard to find at night, but the senator's visit the previous day would have brought it to mind. Possibly he was thinking of a romantic moment parked on the bridge. We will never know.

A good study on this incident is Senatorial Privilege: The Chappaquiddick Cover-up by Damore, Leo (1989). New York: Dell Publishing.

For more general study visit Wikipedia - Wikipedia Reference on Chappaquiddick

Yes, it would be best that you not argue further since you are incorrect.

From the Cathecism of the Catholic Church:

882 The Pope, Bishop of Rome and Peter’s successor, “is the perpetual and visible source and foundation of the unity both of the bishops and of the whole company of the faithful.”402 “For the Roman Pontiff, by reason of his office as Vicar of Christ, and as pastor of the entire Church has full, supreme, and universal power over the whole Church, a power which he can always exercise unhindered.”403

Oh, yeah, panties on the head is the moral equivalent of a drill bit through the knee, especially when the drill-ee is no more than a political prisoner, or the brother of a political prisoner.

What a reprehensible asshat!

I was impressed to learn that as a young man he climbed the Matterhorn. So that's one positive thing I guess if you count mountain climbing as such.

Hmm, guess we'll have to rename it the Doesn't-Matterhorn.

He remained a committed, dedicated partisan bolshevik to the end of his life

he basically declared war on me & mine and aligned himself as an enemy...therefore, fat ted, ed, whatever, good riddence, dont let the door hit ya...I'll show respect by refraining from the same 'happy dance' i did when saddam HUSSEIN swung...same diff really tho...

Sacrament of the Sick -- Last Rites

I am dating myself, but before Last rites, the sacrament was also referred to as the "Sacrament of Extreme Unction".

My reaction in catechism was the thought - "If all else fails!"

I would hope our nation can arrive at a "teachable moment" on all of this.

Don't applaud a liberal. It will get you nothing but more of their nonsense.

The TV is turned off for the day. It was better when they were obsessing over Michael Jackson.

Much as been said about bad behavior here on FR in regards to Ted's Departure....

The Irony is this, we do not have to dance on his grave.

Much of what Ted stood for is being turned asunder...

The Tea-Parties, i.e Celente's 3rd figurative shot of the 2nd American Revolution,

http://www.lewrockwell.com/celente/celente11.1.html

i.e. the Health Care push back and this...

The book Ted stopped Ronaldus Maximus from being the standard of American History in our Classrooms, is now a best seller.

If he was conscious of these towards the end, I would imagine they would have been unsettling to him.

But should these two phenomenon become a reality in the sense they truly stop the Obama Juggernaut, it will truly put the steak in the heart of his Early 20th century progressivism, at least for a while.

And that I do not think he would have been able to deal with that....
