After I sent that I worried that maybe it wasn’t Latin at all. I had two years of Latin in high school. Owing to my really weak background in English at the time both years were first year. I barely made it through 1st year Latin the second year I took it. Glad that phase is over!

This of course implies freedom of speech. Self-censorship may be what you are proposing but what a futile cause you have chosen to champion! And with an especially difficult subject! And in a forum for those who are passionate and outspoken. Do you always "tilt at windmills"?
I have no idea what Senator Kennedy the man was like. No idea what his family life was like, or what kind of dad or husband he was. I have my suspicions but have not looked into it.
All I know is his public persona. In my opinion, he was not (as Obama has said) the greatest Senator of our time. But that kind of rhetoric deserves rebuttal.
His political life (and even his impending demise, during which he asked for the law to be disregarded so that his replacement could be appointed rather than elected) was characterized by dishonesty, elitism, self-service, and abuse of power.
