Could you list your favorite flowers on your profile page AND WHY OH WHY DID YOU WAKE THE SLEEPING BEAUTY ??? I hope you noticed the Lone Star State is rattling swords at Utah in a post above and what did I tell you about avoiding the fruits and nuts in Calif...

You forgot #6. Pick parents who exhibit longevity. The #1 trait of longevity is - genetic.

Thirst is just your mouth being dry. It seems to go deeper than that.

That’s such BS. Your body tells you when you need to drink with this thing called thirst.

You are right. BTW, I got caught up in this 8-glasses-a-day nonsense a few years back and wound up giving myself bouts of arrythmia.

This sums it up:
I, naturally had two grandmothers - one for mom and one for dad.
One grandma lived the ultimate clean life, never drinking or smoking, working hard on their little farm, enjoying all good things in moderation and eating her own organic fruits and veggies. And she adored her husband of many decades and went to church on Sunday.
Other grandma was a bitter smoker who hated her husband (and most everyone else), drank vodka by the gallon, lied, cheated, played video poker and sat on her ass in her condo for decades, manipulating anyone who would be caught in her web.
Question: Which one lived past 90?
Trick Question! They both did - and are both still alive. Good Grandma is still good, Evil Grandma, well, she's out in Vegas somewhere and we don't keep in touch any more.
Moral of the story: It just don't matter.

Thirst, not really. That’s why it’s harder to stay hydrated while doing hard labor in humid environments. The humidity keeps your mouth feeling wet so you don’t get thirsty, meanwhile you’re burning through bodily moisture with your labor.

My mediation happens with my evening two micro beers which lasts from before dinner, during dinner and after dinner.
Or being fortunate to have good friends and relatives in the wino business, sometimes a couple glasses of a good red wine replace the micro brews.
I have never used elevators if the climb is 3 floors or less until my knee surgery 3 weeks ago. I, also, park a block or more if possible from the store or place I’m heading too. I’m back to that regime as my knee recovers.
Regardless of the purists, who claim that water doesn’t count if it is in coffee, tea, beer, fruit juices, I get my 8+ glasses per day in many enjoyable ways.
Whining, crabbing and bitching about things we have no control over isn’t allowed in this household. Our Grandkids have learned that in their short time.
If you don’t have a sense of humor along with a thick hide/skin, this household is like being around a pack of wolves with an open bleeding area.
Local and and national Pseudo tv news is never on in this house, and we might watch 2 hours of tv a night on our 22 year old tv.
Newsweak, Slime and the San Francisco Gay Rhonicle subscriptions were cancelled during the Reagan or Bush I years.
Most conservatives like being around us, and liberals using never come back after a visit.

Here in the high desert dehydration is a real problem. People get heat stroke and dehydration and never even fell the need to drink. I suspect it happens so fast for many that their body does not have time to react. Others are masked by various things such a drugs etc. Burning Man is going on right now - thousands will be treated for dehydration - many who consider them selves the “hydrated” people - you know the ones with a bottle in their hand constantly.

Lookie here glock! Grampa D buys Bob's Really Good Red by the tanker load. Of course he has to drive north to Lake Port in Lake county. I wonder if google dirt shows Bob's winery...
