A groundswell of parent opposition to President Barack Obama's speech next week to students on the importance of education has forced many North Texas school districts to question whether to air it live in classrooms.
Obama announced the speech weeks ago, but opposition and concerns spread rapidly Wednesday morning through conservative social networking Web sites and radio talk shows.
By midday, local school districts say, they were inundated with hundreds of phone calls from parents urging them to not show Obama's speech at school.
Some parents threatened to keep their children home from school if the video was aired.
"We had no idea that there would be a public outcry," said Laura Jobe, a Mesquite ISD spokeswoman. "It caught us by surprise."

Hey, let’s elect another 40 something year old Marxist to be President...I do not think that these egos need to be anywhere near it. They sure do like the perks, don’t they. Gimme the $100 a pound beef, etc. Let’s take some date nights. He sure shines as an example for anyone with his behavior. And as far as speaking to school children, that is downright sick.
Why isn’t there an uproar in Cambridge, Des Moines, Atlanta, Spokane and Peoria? Why aren’t there parents marching and demonstrating in Honolulu, Chino, Kansas City and Memphis? We are our children’s parents, not the almighty government!! The lessons of the 1930’s should show us how to nip this in the bud, if we have the courage. Mr. Obama, Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Reid are paper tigers who will scatter at the first real sign of our power and righteous anger. Know why they went out of their way to denigrate and ridicule the few armed townhall protesters? They didn’t want the idea to spread. If several million armed but peaceful demonstrators appeared on the Mall in Washington, all three would be in an aircraft on their way to Europe within minutes, along with most of the rest of congress, the cabinet and the czars.
Reid and Pelosi outlawed it in Congress.
That Change has already been made.

I read you post and was thinking of the scene in the movie “A Bugs Life” when Flick realizes that the ants are more powerful than the grasshoppers, and that Hopper knows this, and that is why he uses fear and intimidation to keep the ants in line to serve the grasshoppers.
It grows on you...just keep watching...
