AP/Google ^ | September 4, 2009 | Ben Feller

WASHINGTON — In one fell swoop, President Barack Obama must regain the public's attention on health care, explain in detail exactly what he wants in a final deal, unify a restless Democratic Party, prod Congress to get him a bill and bring clarity to a bewildering debate.

Vacation is over.

this is about Obama FORCING republicans into the same room and having the public see that Obama CAN push republicans around.

THE MEDIUM IS THE MESSAGE.

Obama will promise free stuff with the snake oil “ISM” all you need do is sign away your liberty. Obama: the president who brought back slavery to the applause of the sheep.

There's a whole lot more to leadership than a great speech. The ability to give a good speech is just the tip of the iceberg. After that there has to follow something of solid ability to get something done. This man has nothing beyond his ability to give a rousing speech, and not even that if you take away his teleprompter.

I can honestly say that, INHO, he is the most incompetent person who has ever held the Oval Office.

Reminds me of the sign years ago that listed various presidents and what they showed about the office. One was that anyone could be president, a second showed that we don't really need a president and the third showed that having a president could be dangerous. Obama is certainly the epitome of the third type!

"In one fell swoop, President Barack Obama must..."

I doubt Mr. Feller intended to imply the true Shakespearean meaning (Macbeth) of the phrase, but perhaps he did mean: taken down in a single evil stroke.

MACDUFF: [on hearing that his family and servants have all been killed]

All my pretty ones?
Did you say all? O hell-kite! All?
What, all my pretty chickens and their dam
At one fell swoop?

“At the speed of light, policies and political parties yield place to charismatic images” = McLuhan

Obama lost momentum and people were able to look beyond the fake smile. Obama is doing this speech to recharge the crisis and hit the accelerator. Obama needs more gasoline on the fire.

“””

Each medium, independent of the content it mediates, has its own intrinsic effects which are its unique message.

The message of any medium or technology is the change of scale

or pace or pattern that it introduces into human affairs. The railway did not introduce movement or transportation or wheel or road into human society, but it accelerated and enlarged the scale of previous human functions, creating totally new kinds of cities and new kinds of work and leisure. This happened whether the railway functioned in a tropical or northern environment, and is quite independent of the freight or content of the railway medium. (Understanding Media, N. Y., 1964, p. 8)

“”””

Obama is using the MEDIUM of the joint session to look presidential and change the pace of the debate.

It is a forced “time out”

we need a HUGE protest at the same time.

so what??

we know Obama is a liar.

HIS SUPPORTERS know Obama is a liar.

HOWEVER he will have the PHOTO OP of Obama ORDERING all to assemble to before him. (snap photograph)

OBAMA WILL HAVE THE STAGE.

Obama’s words are irrelivant, he is trying to change the speed and directin of the debate.

He is trying to put a period at the end of the town hall sentence.

This is about IMAGRY NOT SUBSTANCE.

It only matters that the image of Big Brother Obama is SENT into the homes of as many people as possible.

Big Brother Must BE SEEN EVERYWHERE AND BEING EVERYWHERE.

Obama, as ONE PERSON, has to be seen OUTNUMBERING all the 300 million citizens of the USA.

THE MEDIUM IS THE MESSAGE

You betcha!

Saw the ISM snake oil video yesterday.

A good reminder that patriotic Americans were sending the message decades ago, not to allow these Snake Oil salesmen any ground at all.

John Q. Public bears the responsibility to speak and vote the truth to turn this around.

Otherwise Obi Wan Nairobi will have his way with our Nation. God help Us!
