My niece, my sister (fellow Freeper) and I are headed to the March on DC. I still can't believe it. Never done anything like this...especially if it cost me money!
But I sat there the other night and realized: We have to go. After complaining about the government for 20 years, this time I have to do something about it.
So we've bought our plane tickets, booked our hotel. (Marriott at Crystal City/Reagan)
Many of our friends are as angry as we are, but are unable to join us. So they've been enthusiastically passing the hat to support us and have raised almost $200 in just one day! (pledges range from $1 to $20). One lady friend wanted to give us $100 but I told her that was way too much!
If you want to go but can't afford it, try it with your friends (and their friends). You might be surprised how happy people are to feel like they have a part in it and will be represented at the March.
We're still trying to decide whether to join the march or just go straight to the rally site at the Capitol. But we'll be there....ready to rumble!
WHO ELSE IS GOING?
Maybe there's another thread I couldn't find. If so, someone please point me there. If not...let's make this the place we "register" and let others know we're going.
Sorry, I can’t make it.
Give them hell!
Thank you... I’ll check out the Convention Thread again for those seeking a shared ride...
Also another Freeper sent me the phone info to sign up for one of the still vacant rooms — I have a call into reservations.... at the number she gave me.
Great Group - Freepers know how to treat friends.
Wow! I’d love to see that too!
See you next time?
We’ll yell twice as loud.
Hey .... great!
Looking forward to seeing you in DC!!
FReepers are the greatest!
Will do!
Thanks for the update. I will be with my tea party group at a hotel near the airport, but I will have time Friday and might try to venture towards the FR convention area. I’ll check out your links - it would be great to meet 1 or 2 of the great folks on this site.
Please Freepmail me if you want to book one of the rooms available at the Sheraton. The hotel is allowing us to book the rooms that were canceled due to illness/family illness and then they decided to give us five more rooms to book at our group rate.
I have two Freepers who are going to get back to me about booking a room, and there are three more if those two are taken.
Please Freepmail me if you are interested with your name and phone number. I will contact the hotel directly and the person in charge of our group rate rooms will call you for information to book one of the available rooms.
See you in DC! Jean
Hi jtill, I am a native of Alabama, but now I am retired in Florida. I am going to Washington with my sister and my niece. They both live in Mobile. We are also staying at the Marriott Crystal City-Reagan airport. There are two Marriotts there. Ours is the one at 1999 Jeff Davis. Maybe we can meet up with your Alabama contingent.

My husband and I are planning to attend the march, thanks in part to a generous benefactor. I have a question that I haven’t seen addressed anywhere. My husband has heel spurs and I have a bad leg - we will be coming into Washington via the Metro. I would think about bringing a folding chair or something if that was allowed - or is this not practical? It will be hard for both of us to stand for several hours without taking a break off of our feet now & then.
Also, what about porta-potties? I’m trying to cover all the bases here. Does anyone have any experience with this?
According to the website you can bring folding chairs.
I’m sure there will be port-a-potties everywhere. And local permits usually require that a certain number of them be “accessible”.

What to Bring:
small umbrellas, hats, caps
bottled water, bag lunch
lawn chairs that you can carry in
cameras
blankets
coolers
backpacks
Or look for JimRob's flag. He's reported to have a 10 foot whip pole with the Don't Tread on Me flag on his wheelchair.

Check out this thread. Sounds like some FReepers might be coming from your area. Or you can hook up with someone close by.

The weather is looking good for Saturday...sunny, highs in the low 80’s.
Thank you! I’ve printed out your post and put it in my “DC bag!”
Thank you very much!
Welcome to street political activism. Glad you will be there. ‘Pod.
