I wouldn’t want to go to Britain anyway due to how their PTB have let things go, but I suppose it’s the principle of it all.

IMO, he’s the token figure balancing out the others on the threat list, which isn’t the right reason to be banned.

Britain is only just across the pond and more and more of their recent insanity is washing up over here.

I have an interesting perspective on this. I started listening to Savage in the Bay Area in 1994 when he had only a local weekend show on what was then the talk radio powerhouse KGO (50,000W). He finally got a regular show and then moved over to KGO's sister station (owned by same people) KSFO. During this time Savage ruffled a lot of feathers in the SF media. He made a lot of local enemies. He then took the show national(through syndication) which must have really *issed off a lot of Bay Area people. He moved from KSFO to KNEW after a contract dispute. That was his flagship station. He was at KNEW until yesterday when they dropped him. Yes this makes no sense and I think it will be the downfall of KNEW as yesterday I removed them from my presets. Now it will be rare when I listen to ANYTHING on KNEW. I've already written them and told them this. I haven't got a reply.

That said Savage has a reputation for *issing off others in the media. He started fights with other conservative radio talk show hosts for no reasons that I can determine other than to be provocative. He has called Rush the "golfer", Hannity the "wallbanger" and so on. He has mocked them and made fun of their education and such. What he got out of this I don't know. You should never go out of the way to make enemies. Savage has many. I not surprised no one in conservative radio came to his defense after being banned in the UK. He has blasted those who might have supported him for years. So they are ignoring him now. You never *iss-off those who you might need one day. Savage has done this.

This is very brief and I left out a lot. That said I still find Savage entertaining and informative. I could do with a little less self promotion. He will be picked up and soon. I cannot imagine the 3rd rated talk show would be off the air in his local market for long.

This frequently brings him into conflict with Repubs such as when they pushed the Dubai port deal, The immigration reform deal, the runaway spending, the McLame nomination, or Bush prosecuting our Marines for actions they took in a FIREFIGHT, or Bush paying a Mexican drug smuggler to help imprison the border patrol.

He will never be their golden boy, he actually expects Repubs to live up to the standards we justly criticize Dems for.

I enjoy his show a lot, he’s the only man who openly states that we have suffered a true socialist revolutin here in America.

Yes KNEW is finished. They are too stupid to know that the only reason many listened to their station was Savage. They set one of their presets to KNEW and listen to other programming as a result of this. I removed KNEW from my presets yesterday. I'm sure many will do the same. I sent them an email and told them about it. I haven't received a reply. This is probably because they are getting thousands of complaining emails.

Unless there are factors I don't know about, and there may be, this has to be the stupidest programming decision I've ever seen in talk radio. How can you remove the show that's #1 in the time slot? Doesn't make any sense.

well, Savage is usually live the first hour, the second hour is canned interviews and the third hour is a repeat of his first hour. After he admitted he was only sticking with the radio thing to get himself off the British ban, I’ve pretty much stopped listening. I’d rather listen to someone who actually wants to be there.

Actually, he was facing really strong competition from Levin in that time slot and Levin was gaining on him and beating him, too.

Sure, he’s bombastic, hugely egotistical and has a chip on his shoulder. His show spins out of control into topics that have absolutely no interest to listeners at times too. However when he is right on target he’s as good as if not better than any radio talk show host out there. He gets no credit for anything he does even in the conservative blogosphere partly because of his abrasive on air personality which he says is not a character. I feel badly for the guy, I heard part of his show this week and he said “I’m all alone in this world.” lamenting his lack of family and close personal friends. He really is a pariah but really no one takes as many non-PC stands as he does

Republicans hate him because he told the truth about President Bush and Congress expanding government. Remember how it was - we were not allowed to say one word of criticism without being attacked here on FR. Imagine how it was for Savage. He gets it from liberals and Republicans.

I dont think he is wrong about her. afterall she WANTED to be sad sack's vp tells you something. I dont dislike her and she is headed the right direction but we need to go stronger. The left expects her to be the candidate, we need to bamboozle them the last few months and pick someone else lol. they have 4 years to digup/fabricate dirt on her too.

Yeah,, that was clearly a stupid move for her. It hasnt launched her into the spotlight at all. We should dump the only Conservative who can pack a stadium and hasnt got the DC taint yet. You must have someone in mind who is far more likely to win than Sarah, so throw out a name for us?

I was informed by CRN (crni.net they broadcast the shows over satellite Telstar 7)that affiliate TRN (Talkradionetwork.com) asked them to remove Savage (they stuck a dupe of mancow in his place) It was the only way I could pull him in up here (internet is hard on dialup where I am, listening to audio)

Wonder what’s going on at TRN ? they still carry him on their website... why would they request he’s pulled off satellite ??
