I think you are correct but I don’t see the government moving in any direction to improve the situation. I don’t believe the majority of our citizens are capable of out of the box thinking. For so many their political views are held with religious fervor. Thus, implementing rational policies to correct the situation, absent a revolution, is IMHO not possible. Hope I am wrong but I don’t think I am. Going forward responsible government will have to be forced upon this country. Our people no longer appear capable of rational self government.
I fear the same thing. Politics has become sport, the average American, when he bother to think about politics, simply cheers for his team.
