I am not surprised that Obama wants Paterson to step down, since Cuomo would be a better candidate for the Dems, but it seems odd for Obama to get involved so publicly.

I don't think it's odd for obama to get involved.

He's a control freak par excellence, and it's just part of his continuing bid to gain control of the whole country.

He wants who he wants in various important positions and will do what it takes to get them there.

It's also pretty enlightening the level of delusion that obama has about himself, that he thinks that he has that kind of influence on blacks and dems.

Is Obambi is going to step aside when Clinton takes him and his dismal poll numbers on?

Notice:

CLINTON tells obama, force patterson out.

STEPHANOPOLOUS asks Obama tough questions today.

Looks like the WH is now isolated.

as Rudy found out, you cannot go from mayor to the white house.......but perhaps a pit stop as governor would enhance his resume.

Good for Patterson.

I know he is awful, but it is not 0bama’s decision.

A lot of things 0bama has done offend me, but this one gets under my skin more than others for some reason. Stay the hell out of state politics.

There can’t be much room left under the bus after all the people 0bama has thrown under it.

Patterson might run but he WON’T WIN the Democratic party nomination.

If Patterson runs and Giuliani opposes him, we will have a governor Giuliani next year.

The Dems will try to draft Andrew Cuomo as their nominee. He has the better chance of winning.

He can’t leave now, he has to find the time to save face. He will bow out in a few months due to “health issues”.

Whenever obama says no, he means yes. The actuality of his reality is usually the opposite of what he says.

Paterson, you just tell that 0bama guy off, okay? Tell him, “You ain’t pushing this brother around!”

Give ‘em hell! (And subsequently hand over the office to Republicans...)

I agree with you. In the politics of identity, there are many possibilities as ‘identity’ may change according to the context and needs. For many Blacks, as well as in some other identity politics, sticking with their leader is very important, even though they are aware that the ‘leader’ is not perfect (otherwise, how did Rangel, etc., etc., keep getting elected?). 0bama is instructing Paterson to step down, and be substituted by a White guy; this might not play well among Paterson’s voters.

I did not know that LAZY E OH was running. After 2000, one would think, he would crawl under a rock for his lack of nerve.
