Speaking of which, some of the technologies in the E-3 are very difficult to manufacture even today. It still amazes me that AWACS was built, and I don’t know if we could do something like that today.
What a tribute to the engineers back then who designed it without the help of modern computing! May God bless them and the many military folks who have flown and maintained AWACS for their service to this country.
Again, I wonder if America still has the engineering, political will, financial means, and manufacturing capability to do something like a new AWACS. Frankly, a seriously doubt it.
