This kind of poll is simply a substitute for news--and a manufactured chance to disparage the indomitable Sarah.

At least PPP was honest enough to reveal exactly how they did it in August after Sarah shocked them with the July numbers. I give them that. They went to a sample that had:

21% -- college grad
35% -- post grad (either degree or work toward a degree). That's double the actual numbers from the 2008 exit polls.

These pollsters can arrive at any result they want by manipulating the sample. It's hard to trust any of them although Rasmussen and Pew seem pretty accurate based on their 2008 results in calling the election.

Could Sarah Palin beat Obama today? No, and I highly doubt any Republican could. Long way 'til 2012.

Mrs Palin will sweep the GOP primaries. None of the others can come anywhere near her - and that is why we see the other potential candidates and their supporters trying to bring her down with lies, smears, slanderous innuendo.

A few points on this bogus poll. First, Allahpundit has a man crush on Romney and will post anything that makes Palin look bad or Romney look good. Second, the poll used a sample of 22 GOP/ 37 Dems. Enough said. Third, the poll sampled adults, not likely voters, not even registered voters. Fourth, the poll has been thoroughly debunked on several conservative websites. Fifth, Palin is the only one out there fighting Obama and his socialism. I could go on but I don’t have time.

In other words, from 1975 to 1980, he wasn’t in the limelight any more than Palin.

Check the accuracy of the PPP polls in the 2008 elections. ‘nuff said. Palin’s favorability rating is between 45 and 47% at the moment based on a compilation of other polls. Bank on it.

Sarah Palin QUIT without completing her term.

Palin really didn't have a choice.
If goons paid off by Obama and Soros filed ethics charges against me non-stop, I'd quit too.
She just gave a major international speech and she played a major role in stopping cap and trade and Obamacare, so her quitting obviously didn't effect her.

Curious why Hot air would be siting the Democrat Party polling group.

Because Allahpundit is a major Romneybot and hates Palin.

As much as I like Palin she is done as far as being a presidential candidate.

Until she declares, all you're doing right now is speculating.

Her negatives are way to high

Too high for whom? Not for conservatives.

her leaving her job plus the family problems will do her in.

She just gave a major financial speech overseas and has over 1,000 other speaking invitations. Is always present in hypothetical election polls and still has grassroots support.

She should be the voice of the party and conservatives but she won't go any higher.

She IS the voice of the party, haven't you been reading her Facebook pages and op-eds?

Hot Air is run by Michelle Freakin Malkin

That doesn't mean anything.

It's the same as liberal commentators frequently writing for IBD Editorials.

Agree. I love her, but the media did too much damage to her last year. That being said, I think she should be ‘out there’ in some way, shape or form- every time she speaks the lefty media is hanging on her every word and foaming at the mouth in an attempt to discredit her:) The hatred that is shown for Palin and Bachmann tells me they are very effective:)

Her negatives are way to high Too high for whom? Not for conservatives.

Since there aren't enough conservatives to make her president I stand by my comment. her leaving her job plus the family problems will do her in.

She just gave a major financial speech overseas and has over 1,000 other speaking invitations. Is always present in hypothetical election polls and still has grassroots support.

She gave a speech which no one has heard except those there, big whoop! That isn't reaching out or stating your positons.

She should be the voice of the party and conservatives but she won't go any higher.

She IS the voice of the party, haven't you been reading her Facebook pages and op-eds?

Oh that is rich, leading a party from your Facebook site, that is rich. Yup all good leaders lead from Facebook and an editorial.

If she is in such demand why isn't she on the Sunday news shows and/or being interviewed on radio? If she really wants to run, lead, she has to get out there and take on the democrats but she hasn't and time is running. Once again I stand by my post.

First of all, try using italics the right way. Use them for my quotes, duh.

Since there aren't enough conservatives to make her president I stand by my comment.

Of the potential presidential candidates, Palin is the the only one who has huge grassroots support and the ability to attract cross-over independents and Dems disillusioned over Obama. So to say they're aren't enough conservatives to make her president is disingenuous.

her leaving her job plus the family problems will do her in.

Those who support her understand why she resigned and her (perceived) family problems are totally irrelevant to her standing right now.

She gave a speech which no one has heard except those there, big whoop! That isn't reaching out or stating your positons.

Excerpts of and the reporting of the speech itself were widely reported in the MSM, including the New York Times. Remember, she is supposed to be a "quitter" and no longer "relevant."

She should be the voice of the party and conservatives but she won't go any higher.

Doesn't need to right now. She's laying low and picking her battles. She's smart not to overexpose herself.

Oh that is rich, leading a party from your Facebook site, that is rich. Yup all good leaders lead from Facebook and an editorial.

Laugh all you want, but sites like Facebook are the future of politics. Every candidate has a Facebook page, a Twitter page, and a YouTube channel. If you don't have these then you're pretty much useless and there go your supporters.

If she is in such demand why isn't she on the Sunday news shows and/or being interviewed on radio?

Not being pursued by dinosaur media is a bad thing? She literally has over a thousand invites to speak, at various organizations and events that will boost her profile far more than appearing on the Sunday shows. BTW, she has appeared on Hannity & Rush's show.

If she really wants to run, lead, she has to get out there and take on the democrats but she hasn't and time is running.

Horse feces - she has been hammering at Obama & the Dems on cap and trade, Obamacare, etc. you name it. See, you are thinking in traditional terms whereas Palin should be a part of the RNC issuing bland press releases and such. She has completely changed the game and you don't even realize it.

The MSM will never allow Sarah Palin to get to the WH

When she gave her nomination speech I predicted the MSM would do to her what they did to Bush, but faster and swifter.

They destroyed her in two short months and continue to attack her any chance they get, while getting on their knees for Obama.

On the plus side, the country might be begging her to run after another few months or so of Big Brother on TV every night and his idiotic policies.

Obama won’t have anything to run on but his record come 2012

Is anyone afraid of that?

That “Hope and Change” BS only works once.

Palin is very smart, far more than people credit her for and she’s getting all her ducks in a row and will eviscerate Obama with facts come 2012

But Palin has a handicap - she has to beat Obama and the MSM

Sorry you are so slow as to see why italics were used and I refuse to waste my time to explain it...but try. To help you out...

Disagree, she will draw the base not the independents, the best she could hope for is they set out the election.

Those who support her understand why she resigned and her (perceived) family problems are totally irrelevant to her standing right now.

They do? If she can't take the heat while in the governor's office she sure can't take it in the WH and that will be one of the threads that will stop her.

Excerpts of and the reporting of the speech itself were widely reported in the MSM, including the New York Times. Remember, she is supposed to be a "quitter" and no longer "relevant."

Excerpts don't cut it. She has yet to come out in front of a large group and make any statements, only behind closed doors...that is not speaking to the American people.

Doesn't need to right now. She's laying low and picking her battles. She's smart not to overexpose herself.

Wow, why didn't I think of that...a stealth candidate, yup that works every time.

Laugh all you want, but sites like Facebook are the future of politics. Every candidate has a Facebook page, a Twitter page, and a YouTube channel. If you don't have these then you're pretty much useless and there go your supporters.

Oh yeah, the voting public just hangs onto Facebook and twitter, oh yeah beats talking to the public every time.

Not being pursued by dinosaur media is a bad thing? She literally has over a thousand invites to speak, at various organizations and events that will boost her profile far more than appearing on the Sunday shows. BTW, she has appeared on Hannity & Rush's show.

Oh she has changed the game alright. Guess giving stealth speeches and issuing the occasional article for a editorial page is really stepping out there.

We disagree and only time will tell who is right but I my many years of watching politics have learned that when you are made fun of and become the butt of jokes you will not be elected. She, unfairly, has become the butt of jokes, easily ridiculed and laughed at. You can' win when that happens.

Sorry you are so slow as to see why italics were used and I refuse to waste my time to explain it...but try. To help you out...

You've been posting here long enough to know the rules.
Writing your responses in italics only confuses the thread lurkers and posters.

Disagree, she will draw the base not the independents, the best she could hope for is they set out the election.

She will draw the independents because she is not part of the Republican Party machine and she will draw the sane liberal Democrats who are balking at the hard leftward tilt of the Obama administration and Congress. She is doing exactly what Reagan did in 1980 by drawing a line and being on message.

They do? If she can't take the heat while in the governor's office she sure can't take it in the WH and that will be one of the threads that will stop her.

"Not taking the heat" has nothing to do with it.
By all means, she tried to go back to doing her job but Obama/Soros operatives used Alaska's tough ethics law against her, and wasted her time and taxpayer dollars.
She simply put the interests of her state and residents ahead of politics and did the right thing by resigning.
Her resigning has had zero impact on any possible political future as she continues to be included in 2012 polling and continues to maintain huge grassroots support and ongoing media scrutiny. No losing vice-presidential candidate who resigned from his/her elected position has pulled this off.

Excerpts don't cut it. She has yet to come out in front of a large group and make any statements, only behind closed doors...that is not speaking to the American people.

Been there, done that. During the campaign, she hit her nomination speech & debate with Biden out of the park, and she gave several post-election speeches including a significant pro-life speech in Indiana. She has nothing to prove right now by giving a closed speech to the media as it's not germane to a political race she's in.

Wow, why didn't I think of that...a stealth candidate, yup that works every time.

She's not a candidate though. She's nothing but a private citizen giving her thoughts and opinions on the issues of the day. What do you want her to do, hold press conferences?

Oh yeah, the voting public just hangs onto Facebook and twitter, oh yeah beats talking to the public every time.

Read: Every candidate and elected official has a website now. They are using social networking sites to reach potential voters. Also, she is augmenting her use of Facebook with op-eds in newspapers. But more and more people are using social networking to interact. The days of taking out full-page ads or running 30 second ads on the evening news are pretty much over.

If she is such hot property she would be pursued by the media but she isn't and for her that is a good thing.

Are you kidding me? The MSM have been hounding Palin. Look, Andrea Mitchell goes up to Alaska to report why Palin resigned and a bunch of reporters covered her handoff to Parnell in Fairbanks. Again, for someone who is supposed to be irrelevant and a quitter.

Oh she has changed the game alright. Guess giving stealth speeches and issuing the occasional article for a editorial page is really stepping out there.

If it wasn't for her "death panels" comment, Obamacare may have passed. She gave Obamacare a setback with just two words.

What now you are going to turn me into the rule police because I didn't use italics the way you want? Guess you prefer style over substance.

Since we keep going around the same tree looks like we are at a stalemate and only time will tell who is right. But I will once again say that when you are being laughed at you are losing. Case in point, Kerry. Bush was very unpopular but what made saved him was Kerry was the butt of jokes and couldn't over come that. Palin is in the same position and will be unable to overcome the SNL, late night and the other popular shows. Sad but true.

In other news....

on this day in history...

Dukakis leads Bush by 17 % ...2 months prior to the election.

This poll is meaningless and Palin will win the nomination hands down...and then she will go on to win the Presidency.

This is pure BS. Come 2012, any republican candidate, including Palin will start off with the 46.5 percent of voters who voted for McCain-Palin in 2008. I can’t see any of us who voted against 0bama in 08 turning around and voting for him in 12.
