Was told today by a “Healthcare for all!” dumba** that he understands... I just want ‘personal freedom from responsibility’. Seriously. I asked who am I responsible for? The dumb teenager up the road to does skateboard tricks on stair rails and gets his testicles shoved into his pelvic cavity? The meth user who has nubs for teeth? Who exactly am I desiring freedom being responsible for?

Oh, and it was equated with blacks and women getting the vote (healthcare for all) as if that would sway me, being female and all. I reminded him of the concept called positive rights and negative rights. It’s not a right when someone else is expected to provide it for you. A “right” is something you are born with.

Some people boggle my mind.

Oh, and a PSA was posted about a woman who supposedly went to the ER with her daughter running a 103 fever and was sent home because she didn’t have health insurance. The little girl died later.

I called BS on that because no ER is going to send you away for no insurance. Then it was said, “Well, they didn’t admit her because it wasn’t life threatening” and I said, “I can’t think of one instance where they wouldn’t admit a child that it WAS life threatening for no insurance... furthermore, if they only had the flu with 103 temperature, they would have sent an insured child home. Sounds like the FLU killed that poor girl, not the hospital OR lack of healthcare”.

They are legally obligated to help that woman regardless of insurance. That is totally BS, it’s a FEDERAL LAW.

I think it has to do with the Hollywood mentality of how they get work. It’s all luck, not process. Luck being seen, luck being hired, luck having just the right ‘look.’

They don’t know about building a resume, building a skill set, and then pounding the pavement with her resume. That’s how Laura Ingraham put it.

I also think it’s a guilt issue. They feel guilty because they are ridiculously rich for acting like brats. So they relieve some of that guilt by campaigning for things (for ‘other rich people=evil rich people’) to pay for the less fortunate. Not understanding or caring that there are plenty of people who will FEEL that pinch of having something taken away.

You know what I think that analysis is probably correct.
