To be fair, I am glad 0bama spent political capital on this. It makes the outcome so much worse politically for him.

And suddenly the president was being pummeled by the right for a frivolous use of political capital

Not exactly true. Serious journalists were critical of this fiasco long before he lost the Olympics.

Since it was Titanic’s maiden voyage, Captain Edward Smith was not able to throw blame on the previous captain...

I marvel that he still gets credit for eloquence at all. He seems incapable of delivering this thoughts without the aid of a teleprompter, even at the IOC. His pitch to the IOC was one of the most self-centered, narcissistic arguments I’ve ever heard, in any context, from a President. Michelle’s argument that she did it for the kids despite the great personal sacrifice people see in her effort dropped my jaw.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he did in fact have a deal, but his pitch simply turned the IOC off, and they decided to pop his ballooned sense of self-importance.

Initially, I thought the only way he's going over there is if its already in the bag. When the results were announced I knew it was his all consuming ego along with the fact that the Chicago machine headed by little dick daley are bigger thieves than the IOC. That being the IOC voted them out straight away when they saw they weren't going to be the ones making the lions share of the kickbacks.

Does the IOC vote with ‘secret’ ballot? I am curious who voted for BamaKennedy and who voted against him.

I am very surprised that he put his image up for such a global fall given how much time he has spent over the past year plus campaigning on the world stage.

Losing the olympic bid had to come as a body blow for many WH insiders as well as Obama cronies in Chicago who already purchased Southside tenaments and slums in anticipation of big profits once Chicago won the bidding.

Now faced with the reality of owning illiquid real estate in a part of town they are afraid to venture into has to have a negative effect on moral amongst team hussein.

For a bunch of hacks, the IOC was able to see through this transparent attempt for a 2016 Obama "victory lap" on his (at least in his mind and possible future) way out the WH door. Good on 'em.

Sorry BOzo. Your playing the ( We poor black folk done come to save the olympics) race card did not fly with the world. You are a token, an empty suit, a dolt and a loser. You should have sent Sarah Palin and given the old farts something to talk about.

I assumed the ‘bama was taking a few bushels of missing stimulus money with him to clinch the deal; I guess I mis-underestimated the enormity of his ego.
