Before first lady Michelle Obama set off for this Danish capital to lead the charge for Chicago's valiant -- but ultimately unsuccessful -- bid for the 2016 Olympics, she joked that the last-minute lobbying effort would be "a battle." "We're going to win," Obama said. "Take no prisoners."
At a G-20 dinner in Pittsburgh, she teased Brazil's first lady, Marisa Leticia da Silva, that when the time came for the last-ditch arguments for the Olympic and Paralympic Games coming to Chicago -- over competitors Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo and Madrid -- the "gloves are off."
Back in September, that all was just good-natured exaggeration -- high-level, lighthearted trash talk. But when Obama took the microphone Friday morning in front of more than 100 members of the International Olympic Committee, at a convention center here, she went straight for the emotional jugular. She did not try to sell the city of her birth based on the location of its sports venues, the logistics of transportation, amenities available for the athletes or even the long list of designer boutiques on the Magnificent Mile. She left all that -- including a discussion of Chicago's excellent shopping opportunities -- to the other members of the delegation who came with her to sell the city to the IOC.

YES WE CAN!
OH NO YOU DIDN’T!
fear the belt
Oprah was so disappointed and distraught with the "first out" of the competition that she has "started" by eating and is most of her way through Norway by this morning.

All I ask for a a true and honest (if that is not redundant!) of this "excercise" to the American Public. I'd be interested to also know who has personal vested interests in the possible favorable outcome for this adventure, specifically relating to the possible sale of real estate and other servicees should the Chicago Olympic Committee - 2016 be successful.
That's all I ask. Starting to think of the length of time a snow flake or many snow flakes can survive in Hell while I await the answer to the forgoing questions.
When will someone in the "main stream" news business address any of these questions and share the results with us.
“Robert Ctvrtlik?”
Hey! My middle name is Ctvrtlik, and even I don’t know how to pronounce it!
We might as well have sent Kanye and Serena over their, if you are gonna go full diva and self centered jackass you might as well go with your best.
Carl Lewis was in the 1984,88,92 and 96 Olympics. She would have been 20 or 24 when she was sitting on her dad's lap cheering for Carl Lewis.
Imagine how The Oprah must feel...
Oh for Heaven's sake....gag me with a spoon!
However; that having been said, it was worth it to see them humiliated before the world. For all their efforts, they were the first to get booted....LOL
So, if she hadn't been so "effective" Chicago would have been in first place? Or fourteenth?
An impressive example of what Ann Coulter once called the “suck up media for Democrats.”
Wow, she must have crushed her father!
Can you imagine the raging and screaming coming from the WH living quarters yesterday.
My grandfather died before I was born. Obviously, I never knew him but have been told he was a big sports fan. Maybe we could have the Olympics in my fenced in backyard. sniff, sniff.
No wonder he died.
The Audacity of Nope!
“Ctvrtlik”
I just tried to pronounce it and you wouldn’t like being called what it sounded like.
All money well spent for this superb BITCH SLAP, no matter how much.
“The first lady stood out like a star in front of a backup chorus.”
The first lady stood out like a pork chop on a bed of rice.
The first lady stood out like a mule in front of a heard of cattle.
The first lady stood out like a fly in a pile of dung.
