Raleigh, N.C. — Wake County voters gave a thumbs-down Tuesday to assigning local students based on socioeconomic factors by electing candidates to the Board of Education who oppose the controversial policy.
Chris Malone won the District 1 seat on the school board, while Deborah Pickett won in District 7 and Debra Goldman took District 9.

I’m rather jaded on the subject of diversity. I believe in equal treatment, but diversity has become a leverage to cast all common sense to the wind. It’s more like a code word for F U Whites!
I’m really growing tired of the reverse racism that is just plain rampant in this nation.
You try to treat other folks like they should be treated, keep you nose to the grindstone and support your own family, and then there’s this constant undercurrent of racial tension that you have to deal with.
We have a whole month of racial diversity awareness in our city. I’m sure it’s a national thing. We live about a third of a mile from a park, and two out of the last three weekends, they’ve been playing middle-eastern music in the park full blast. One day it lasted for about seven hours and the other it lasted about four hours. I’ve made recordings on our balcony of this music just blaring away. This next weekend is more than likely going to be another six to seven hours of it.
Imagine something akin to a mixture of music from Arabic countries to India. It just grates away at you incessantly. You try to ignore it, but it’s there in the back of your head the whole time. You can’t ignore it. 250 feet way, there’s an auditorium that sits empty. They could open it up and allow these people to celebrate in a manner that wouldn’t force everyone within half a mile of hearing this grating mind-numbing noise.
The word diversity holds very great import these days. The whole month of diversity awareness is only heralded for one reason. Whites have got to get over their racism. Another words, we’re racists. We need to accept others. Ah no, there are some things we shouldn’t have to accept.
What other reason is there for pushing this garbage?
I like people from about every corner of this planet. I am sick and tired of having their culture in my face non-stop.
I go to Middle-Eastern restaurants and try their food. I listen to their music there by choice.
I should not have to have it piped into my home full blast.
“Diversity” is just a codeword for discrimination against whites, while picking their pockets. Because, donchaknow, “diverse” people got no damn money.

They had an article yesterday by a “pro-diversity” group making a push to defeat the pro-neighborhood school candidates who were all endorsed by the Wake County GOP.
Way to go, Wake parents!

Yeah - they had the diversity cheerleaders on their site yesterday - one of the commenters said he was thankful - for telling him who NOT to vote for! No putting lipstick on this pig.
Pretty good description - I don’t know that busing has caused all of our problems - I just know it hasn’t helped any either.
That “music” sounds like the kind of thing the US Army did to get Noriega to come out of his hideout. A time traveller from 50 years ago would not believe this BS.
You know apparently the other way this scam works is via the subsidized lunch program. If I have my facts correct (I hope I do) the can’t bus on the basis of race anymore. So they bus on the basis of who gets subsidized lunches. And apparently the fraud is everywhere as you just have to say you need your lunch paid for and they have to give it to you and the state (or feds) have made it illegal to even check up on those subsidized lunch programs to check for fraud. The whole thing is so brazen it’s breathtaking.

I think parents of Wake County’s public school kids are just finally FED UP with the school board’s dictatorial policies and this was a FED-UP vote!
Which is a very good sign....just wish it could have carried over to defeat Meeker....However the Repubs in Wake County have got to find better candidates to oppose him.
Can’t speak for N & O but WRAL *always* has comments shut down at nite - that’s cuz they basically do comments like radio stations do 10 second time delay - no comment gets posted without being read and approved by their comment police - and they only work during the day.

I long to see the day when that POS David Price is tossed out on his ear. I guess we have our own likes and dislikes but that’s one that *really* gets under my skin. Meeker? He’s likes to play Thomas the Tank Engine with his Light Rail, right?
