Honestly, I wish this was still the days of Rome where the ruling class participated in the gladitorial games.

Playing basketball produces carbon. Not to mention the production of the basketball itself produced tons of carbon.

“Tales From the Obama Bedroom”
By KATHARINE Q. SEELYE

SNIPPET: “In an interview with Glamour magazine, Michelle Obama reveals that her husband, Barack, is so “snore-y and stinky” when he wakes up in the morning that their daughters won’t crawl into bed with him.

The interview, in the magazine’s October issue, was conducted by Tonya Lewis Lee, who is married to Spike Lee, the filmmaker.

Update: Glamour has updated its Web site now with a fuller quote from Mrs. Obama, and here’s a complete transcript of the passage:

Q: Speaking of your girls, what do you think they think of Mommy? How do they think of you?

Mrs. Obama: You know my hope in my gut is that I am just Mommy. I don’t think this part registers to them. I mean so much of our relationship is based on our world at home. It’s getting up _ you know we have this ritual in the morning. We get up and they want ten more minutes so they can come in my bed and if Dad isn’t there _ because he is too snore-y and stinky, they don’t want ever to get in the bed with him _ but we cuddle up and we talk. We’ve talked about everything from the boy that one daughter doesn’t particularly like in school to what is a period to _”

Why didn't racist President 0bama invite liberal former-Olympian, former-NY Knick, and former-Senator Bill Bradley to play?

The mere thought of Tim Geithner in basketball shorts conjures up memories of "The Office" when they are playing basketball in the warehouse.

Pakistan’s military rejects US aid bill
AP via Breitbart ^ | Oct 7, 2009 | NAHAL TOOSI
Posted on October 7, 2009 7:54:48 PM PDT by Jet Jaguar

Pakistan’s powerful military rejected U.S. attempts to link billions of dollars in foreign aid to increased monitoring of its anti-terror efforts, complicating American attempts to strike al-Qaida and Taliban fighters on the Afghan border.

Although the U.S.-backed government of President Asif Ali Zardari has the final say on whether to accept the money, the unusual public criticism threatens to force its hand and undermine military cooperation with the Americans just as the Pakistani army prepares for what could be its most important offensive against extremists since the U.S.-led anti-terror campaign began exactly eight years ago.

Any breakdown in intelligence sharing and other types of cooperation would hurt the American fight against a resurgent Taliban in Afghanistan. U.S. and NATO commanders say the war there cannot be won unless Islamabad does more to tackle extremists on its side of the border.

In Washington, President Barack Obama met with his national security team for a strategy session on Afghanistan after signaling that he was not considering a troop withdrawal. The session came amid new polls showing waning support for the war in the United States.

The military’s criticism of the bill came in a brief written statement that said senior commanders, including the army chief, “expressed serious concern regarding clauses impacting on national security.”

Among other strings, the bill conditions U.S. aid on whether Pakistan government maintains effective control over the military, including its budgets, the chain of command and top promotions.

Some analysts said the military’s statement had little to do with genuine dislike of a bill that stands to help crumbling schools, roads and hospitals. They said the army was sending a message to the Pakistani and U.S. governments about the limits of civilian control in a country that’s been subject to military rule for half of its 62-year history.

Looks like Joe Wilson wasn’t invited/

At the GOPers should know how to defend him. He only knows how to go to his left.

Where’s Plugs? Will this be televised?

I wonder where all the feminists who backed Obama will be since he didn’t invite any women to shoot the rock. I hear Hillary is deadly from beyond the arc. Will it be shirts vs skins?

All in all though, what a joke. Everything going on and he’s shooting hoops??? Nice to see he takes his job seriously. Maybe he can do a little touch football on the east lawn next.
