Some of my best friends have worked for ACORN. They are honest, dedicated and moral individuals who appreciated the mission of this group, which has done so much good for some of our poorest citizens. So I take it personally when Congress reduces ACORN to an object lesson about the purported immorality of some community organizers.
ACORN isn't perfect. Both its loose organizational supervision and occasional zealotry of its organizers have led to abuses. But Congress has been extremely hypocritical and biased in cutting off federal funds.
When two conservative activists posed as a pimp and a prostitute and with a hidden camera went to a number of ACORN's tax preparation offices seeking tax counseling, they managed to find a couple of staffers who gave foolish and unprofessional advice. ACORN has since fired those employees.
But that wasn't enough for Congress. Absent any attempt to assess how widespread such practices are or whether ACORN is striving to monitor its organizers more closely, Congress acted with unprecedented speed and zeroed out ACORN's funding.

“Some of my best friends have worked for ACORN. They are honest, dedicated and moral individuals..”
Hahhahahahha....yeah right!
I will tell you the one key feature about ACORN...one guy or one special group...is always in charge of each city or regional ACORN office. If you were to walk in...with forty additional volunteers...all right-wing leaning...you would be pushed out the front door.
The guys in charge...don’t want competition within the inner circle of each ACORN office.
Note the current trouble in New Orleans...a second ACORN group is about to start up with the recently fired chief of that old ACORN office running the new one. There are strong suggestions of conflict between these two groups.
If you wanted to destroy ACORN...you destroy from within. You join....you melt into this apparatus...and then you stand up and start with a couple of management changes. You challenge the structure and vision. You institute reforms over accountability. You invite the media to view the “change” of the regional ACORN office. In five years, you could destroy the entire effective nature of ACORN in your local town and make multiple competitor organizations which draw away from the effective nature of the group.
Just a suggestion.
I like what you said.
Jet, you forgot something when you posted this load of crap. You should have titled it this way:
Stop the vendetta against ACORN (mega barf alert)
Good job posting the lies from the left.

“ACORN isn’t perfect.”
Not only isn’t it perfect, but it is also a Marxist thug outfit deserving of demise.
How do liberals get all the really, really good weed while I’m stuck with this Mexican shake crap?
The mission of absolute corruption. Stealing hard earned taxpayer dollars to use for nefarious activities and most of all STEALING elections.
As a hiring manager, previous employment by ACORN would be a warning flag.
I am sure somewhere in that corrupt bunch of violent communist thugs you can find a few naifs and dimwits who thought it really was a “community organizing” organization, just as among Democrat party voters, there are a handful of non-communists.
Doesn't say much for your friends!
I stopped at these two words “isn’t perfect”.
Those two words are an admission of massive corruption which describe anything affiliated with the democrats.
Acorn exists to provide it’s leadership with a fat paycheck.
Acorn is b.H. obamma.
They are one and the same.
Lying, thieving, scum sucking bottom feeders.
“Some of my best friends have worked for ACORN.”
You better get some better friends, friend! You’re keeping some pretty bad company.
Screw you, tit for tat.
