Perspective.
First off there are impounded machines, absentee ballots (mailed before Dede’s withdrawal), and still precincts left to be counted. This doesn’t include what may well be a recount to come as well.
Second, the goal was to take Dede out even if the Democrat won. This was accomplished.
Message was sent they can’t win without consideration given to conservatives.
Now I want Hoffman to win and that became the primary goal once he surged past Dede but it wasn’t a necessity. The race will be open again next year. This time preferably without the establishment creating havoc and a proper primary without an incumbant liberal Republican to fight. A win at this juncture would estbalish bragging rights but wouldn’t affect the numbers in the House in any practical way.
These aren’t optimistic postings. This is what was debated and decided upon before today. A calculated risk with little downside.

Earlier tonight Rove said there were towns in NY where they weren’t going to post vote results until tomorrow morning in NY-23 race.
I certainly hope that’s correct.
I’m thrilled with VA (where I live, hooray!), and Jersey, but darn it all, I’m greedy, and I want all 3 states to be victories for us!
