Krauthammer: The myth of '08, demolished
The Washington Post ^ | November 6, 2009 | Charles Krauthammer

Posted on 11/06/2009 2:21:21 AM PST by Puzzleman

Sure, Election Day 2009 will scare moderate Democrats and make passage of Obamacare more difficult. Sure, it makes it easier for resurgent Republicans to raise money and recruit candidates for 2010. But the most important effect of Tuesday's elections is historical. It demolishes the great realignment myth of 2008...

Best piece I've read since Tuesday.

I'm more hopeful about the future than I have been for over a year.

The '08 election was a historical anomaly. Obama ran against an unpopular Republican president, the politically incompetent McCain, a financial collapse .........And still he won by only seven points.

We still have not determined what we all strongly suspect------that Ohaha won fraudulently-----that his corrupt buddies at ACORN cooked the vote.

New Jersey (a solid Dem state) and Virginia were terrible, horrible, disastrous, cataclysmic blows to Obama’s prestige. And to Rahm's Plan to establish a Democratic Century.

White House hacks resorted to saying Ohaha was not watching the results come in. Press secretary---and resident liar, Robert Gibbs---said the elections don't "mean much" to Ohaha. Here's a couple reminders that show the truth to that lie.

HERE'S HOW DESPERATE THEY WERE TO WIN NJ Obama went to New Jersey three times---Biden was there twice.

The NY Times reported :

(a) every TV ad Corzine put on the air was being screened by Obama's WH team.

(b) Corzine's aides gave the WH daily briefings.

(c) Obama’s pollsters took over for Corzine’s polling team, and,

(d) White House operatives were on the ground in New Jersey, for everything from internal strategy sessions to secret, obscure pep rallies with Latinoes, (still toweling off after swimming the Rio Grande).

Corzine had a "Peruvian PAC" endorsing him. Latino invaders from Ecuador, Mexico, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Puerto Rico and Spain are currently "registered" to vote in NJ (or being trucked in election day) under several names.......all voting for Corzine under several identities.

All of the pundits claimed the race was "close" and that the counting would go on til the wee hours. However, Repub Christie came charging out of the gate well-ahead. Tgen two hours after the polls closed, he was declared the winner by a comfortable 5 points.

In the end, Obama's NJ appearances----saying he needed Corzine as "his partner"----made him a handy target for voter discontent. He and Corzine paid the price.

SUMMIMG UP Ohaha was castrated on Tuesday night and he still doesn't know it yet. Well, maybe when Michele asks for sex, the reality will kick in....... (/snic).

===================================

To help Corzine, Ohaha hid $17.5 BILLION stimulus in NJ---not for creating jobs, but for Corzine's reelection kitty. Inevetigatve news reports say the stim disappeared and could not be traced. NOTE The WH still has not spent 85% of the stim----buzz is Ohaha is saving it for Dem candidates 2010 elections.

"declared the winner by a comfortable 5 points". Technically, that's correct as Christie's official win tally was 5 points".

More than likely Christie really won by 10 points, given the margin of fraud.

Of course the Dems losing NEW JERSEY means nothing.
Its only like Mayor Daley losing in Chicago to a Republican and then 'converting' to a Cubs Fan.

So nothing to see here, move along now.

The South Side White Sox - North Side Cubs divide is like the schism between King Henry the VIII and The Pope. (yes it CAN get heated, even today)

The MSM and Democrats have tried to write-off conservatives for decades.

If you don’t believe me, listen to Rush, he can tell you how many times articles were written about his demise.

I guess Sox fans could call me apostate. I grew up a Sox fan in the 50’s and 60’s. Dad even had season tickets for a while. Loved watching Gary Peters pitch. And Sunday doubleheaders were a treat.

Left Chicago for good and baseball for many years. Recently I have gravitated back to baseball, but as a Cubs fan. Go figure. I think Wrigley field has something to do with it. I did go there some as kid, so maybe the fact that Comiskey Park is gone has been a factor.

Oh, It knows it alright.
Crooked yes, scary Marxist yes, but stoopid? No.

Or Larry.
First come first served, they say. LOL

"NOTE The WH still has not spent 85% of the stim----buzz is Ohaha is saving it for Dem candidates 2010 elections."

Won't be enough, not by a country mile.
By 2010 I predict: People will be so fed-up with the poseur they'll want to literally puke 'em out. Unable to do that 'til 2012, they'll turnout, en mass, to detooth the hound via both houses.

We'd do well to remember the sage words of General Patton, something we all must do -- "Grab 'em by the nose & kick in the ass!" -- until the Usurper slurper & his imps have been RTH clean out town *and* from the American political scene, forevermore.

No more "Mr. Nice Guy & STH no more Mr. Clean. That's the ticket. ;^)

I'm gonna say ten Hail Mary's for you, you'll come back to the Sox :-)

'series' for a 'few years (10?)' I couldn't watch the Sox, Hawk Harrelson bugged me and the Cubs had better announcers so I'd watch them. But I went back to watching the Sox and Harrelson just grew on me. Now I like him because he talks baseball I know, like you -- of the 50's and 60's. And now he's with the 'Stone Pony' (Steve Stone).

We never had season ticks to the Sox, couldn't afford them. But went to a lot of games in the 'olden days'. Little Louie, Nellie Fox, Jim Landis and 'Minnie'. And you could get in free after the 5th inning iirc and after the 1st game of a Sunday doubleheader (we lived 'pretty close' to Comiskey Park).

I loved that old place and was able to take our two girls there a couple times before they tore it down. Now grown they go to more Sox games than I did.

I was a longLONG time suffering Red Sox fan in my yewt.(Nothing else to cheer about in Boston), the “Ass-Ends of America” Back in the days of Carl Yasztremski, Ken Harrelson, et al. Then a miracle happened....they won! I always like the White Sox too, especially the ball park.

In my yute, I was lucky enough to see to Ted Williams play against the White Sox. When I saw 'the shift' I was dumbfounded - Little Louie playing 2nd, Nellie Fox basically in the outfield.

*** I always like the White Sox too, especially the ball park. ***

All the old parks seemed better, they had character. And I didn't 'hate' or even dislike the Red Sox. For us on the South side it was always those 'Damn Yankees' (Detroit a close 2nd for me). But I think everyone hated the Yankees :-)

Though I liked respected 'The Mick' and liked Yogi Berra.

When I saw the Yankees spend 420 million on three free agents, I knew they would win. They merely bought a championship team. The other teams can’t compete with a team that makes more than half the league combined. No sportsmanship here, just money. DAMN the Yankees!

Sometime before the Baseball Strike of 1981, the Yankees (George Steinbrenner) paid bought a Free Agent from the White Sox for +/-$800,000. It was 'HUGH' money at the time as the Sox player wasn't even a starter, didn't hit a lot of HRs and his batting avg sucked too. (Can't recall his name)

I knew then that 'The Game' that I knew as Baseball was finished. And Steinbrenner was the culprit.

Mr. Krauthammer some of US never bought into the deceptive myth of election 2008. (cough cough) Now as I recall Mr. Krauthammer, you turned up your nose at Sarah as NOT being nearly as prepared to be ‘VicePresident’ as was BamaKennedy was to be president.

Maybe you owe her and US an apology for how much of that ‘myth’ you helped promote.

Agreed.

Which is something everyone on the right should consider before getting too ecstatic. All of those "close" seats in the house, held by Dems? Well, either the Republicans make serious headway against Dem fraud (unlikely, given past experience), or Republican candidates will need to have 8%+ margins to compensate for the fraud & deter Dem lawsuits. IOW, I doubt we are any closer to winning back these so called "close" seats in 2010 when we realize how much worse Dem fraud is going to be. They see this as all or nothing, their chance to permanently take over.

I'm not being defeatist, but we had better be prepared to duke it out, figuratively AND literally. That means we must take control of the GOP. The current RINO elite does not have the guts to fight back.

Krauthammer is and always was an intellectual snob. He showed his true colors election night when he appeared “giddy” over the Obama victory. (Of course Obama was Harvard Law and Charlie was Harvard Med, so all is well)I would wholesale Fox’s Gang of Four experts for 5 bucks, and consider myself a thief.
