The health care bill and the cap and trade bill mark the end of the representative republic. When you have the goal of fundamentally transforming America from the democracy you have to the socialist state you desire what's cost of a few house seats? So what if the Republicans sweep the elections in 2010? A government program is eternal.

Republicans have shown that they do not have the intestinal fortitude to cut out even one cancerous government entitlement, much less a behemoth such as the one on the floor now. In fact, Republicans are more than happy to extend unemployment insurance, increase food stamps, enlarge the first time home buyer housing credit and hand over trillions of our children's tax dollars to the completely unaccountable federal reserve.

Unless a major transformational shift occurs in the political landscape wiping the field clean of the entire current ruling class, both parties, we are watching the end of the Republic.
