I’m sure the EPA will have a whole set of regs and compliance issues for you if you wish to expose all of that lead and asbestos and mercury into the world...good luck...

No more handyman specials or fixer uppers for first time home buyers. No more fixing up junkers and renting them out in order to build up equity.

Bureaucrats will love this. Their imaginations can run wild with “requirements” they can impose in the name of Enviro-Wackoism. The Tony Sopranos of the world will have a heyday with it too.

Yes, I did. You're talking about taking it down after he passes. I'm talking the same thing...

I asume he has a will. If he hasn't deeded it to you yet...I wouldn't count on it being there.

My understanding is that this has been removed from the bill. The Nat’l Assoc. of Realtors pitched a fit and had it removed back in September. At least the Realtors read the bill.

Maybe, but we still need a Senate version then a conference. Just like healthcare all the crap will be added in when everyone's attention is focused on some other 0bamma caused disaster.

Or they will stick this in the health care bill, or the next “Stimulus” bill, or the you-name-it bill.

GOOD PLANETS ARE HARD TO FIND (Steve Forbert) Steve Forbert Good planets are hard to find, Temp'rate zones and tropic climes, True currents in thriving seas, Winds blowin' through breathing trees, Strong ozone and safe sunshine, Good planets are hard to find. Good planets are in demand, Clean beaches and sparkling sand, Land masses with room to spare, Jet streams and perfect air, High forests and low wetlands, Good planets are in demand. And the mind don't know If the heart can't see; Let the blind man go To his destiny... Good planets are rare indeed, Rain fallin' on crops and seed, Big rivers and good topsoil, Fuel sources from cane to oil, Green gardens of all we need, Good planets are rare indeed. And the mind don't know If the heart can't see; Let the blind man go To his destiny... Good planets are scarce and few, Earthworms and caribou, Strong food chains and tasty meals, Textiles and plants that heal, Iron mountains and skies of blue, Good planets are scarce and few.

Is that to be our new national planetary anthem? lol

Will 0ba-Mao put his hand over his heart for that one or are the rest of us supposed to grab our crotches when it's played?

Yep he’s out to destroy the housing market further. Most people are lucky to make a few thousand off the sale of their home after all is said and done, now you will have to spend more to sell it than you could make.

I think there is a mental issue going on with that crotch grabbing thing he has going on. I don't understand why his wife or somebody can't tell him to knock it off.

A web link that goes to a generic list of bills?

Here is the Text HR 2454, as passed by the House/placed on the Senate Calendar

It is indeed 1428 pages long, counting the cover and House "calendar page". So really only 1426 pages of unConstitutional Crap.

From page 350, line 13

(b) ESTABLISHMENT.—The Administrator shall develop and implement, in consultation with the Secretary of Energy, standards for a national energy and environmental building retrofit policy for single-family and multifamily residences.

then there a bunch of stuff about "Green Banking" which is in essence subsidies for sales/purchase of appropriately "green" housing.

Of course it is, but that sort of quaint imagery is a distant memory to those kind of folks.

What would be constitutional, maybe, is requiring new construction to meet new terms. But what that would do is create a premium on older homes, exactly what they don’t want. This kind of thing is religion to them, and attendance in “church” is mandatory.

Have you looked into inheritance taxes?

Chances are you're better off selling the house while your father is still here.

You're also better off selling the house as a whole. Selling parts of a house is time consuming. Sounds like a great idea at first but wait till you're in the middle of doing this. You'll regret it.

A 40 year old house is neither here nor there. If it were 140 or 4 years old, then there's a charm in there.
