VANITY: What happens to KSM if he is found not guilty?
Vanity | Sunday, November 15, 2009 | rightcoast

Posted on 11/15/2009 6:57:07 AM PST by rightcoast

There is obviously a lot of discussion on FR concerning Obama's decision to try Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in a civialian trial in NYC. Most of the comments have centered around the horrible possibility of a new terrorist attack against the court or somewhere nearby.

I want to focus on another item I haven't seen discussed... what would happen to KSM, etc if the verdict is Not Guilty? Do they walk? Are they deported? As cleared, are they free to roam the streets of NYC? I am being deadly serious... If you open this to the civilian legal system, what would literally happen if they are not actually convicted?

If anyone's reaction (on the left OR right) is to scoff or laugh and think, "well of COURSE they will be found guilty", then I ask... what is the point of a civilian trial, if a guilty verdict is 100% guaranteed? If it is NOT guaranteed, even by the slimmest margins, then what in God's name will happen if a not guilty verdict is handed out? This needs to be hammered relentlessly to the Obama administration. I want an answer to this NOW and I will not accept the answer of "justice will be served." I want to know what the hell we are going to do with these terrorists if they are cleared. Just... nothing?

And, by the way, how long before the media starts referring to the them as "alleged terrorists" now that everything is sucked into the civilian legal system?

God help us.

All I can say in answer to that question is that there’s the law, and there’s justice ...

HE will get a Barry Obama scholarship to attend the university of his choice, a new car, a new house, and a job with the government!

And at King Obama will give his about 10 million for his suffering. Remember, all our taxes are King Obama's stash.

re: chip implanted in KSM.

and if you were a smart terrorist and saw him released and he called you and asked for a meeting, wouldn’t that chip thought cross your mind also?

ya, leave everything you have seen & “learned” in the movies....in the movies.

What if the case is thrown out of court? These guys are being tried under American Law - and none of them were read their Miranda rights.

They’re being tried under our laws - none of them were read their Miranda rights. We’ve already lost.

I haven’t heard anyone else mention this, but I’ve wondered if KSM would be put on trial for the murder of Daniel Pearl, although that crime was committed overseas, so I’m not sure how it would be arranged.

Most supporters of this seem to think that should there be an acquittal (highly unlikely we must admit) they’d all just be swooped up and detained SOMEHOW, either as “continuing threats” or on immigration violations. I don’t really see how the immigration thing would work, since I don’t think KSM has ever been to America and certainly he won’t have come here of his own volition if he is brought here for trial.

Huckabee was asked this question by Geraldo last night and he correctly said that should there fail to be a conviction it will be the end of Obama and the end of the Dem party for a generation.

However, I thought 9/11 would be the end of dem presidents for my lifetime, obviously I was wrong about that.

But I must say that saying you’re giving the man a trial to show how great our justice system is, but conviction is a certainty, and even if he is not convicted he’ll be locked up anyway, is completely illogical on its face.

And Eric Holder and anybody else with the brains to get through law school must realize this.

I had to catch myself on the “leave everything you have seen & “learned” in the movies....in the movies” deal.

What occurred to me was the notion of him going back to his buddies and being seen as a ‘snitch’. Then I remembered that the terrorists don’t think like normal humans...

thank you for possting this —
it is so obviously true.

All have confessed their guilt. The NYC event is simply a show trial to find the guilt of the Bush Administration and prepare for the 2010 elections.

It may be that Holder and Obama are mainly thinking of this in anti-Bush terms. (Holder made a swipe at the Bush administration on Friday.) They want the case against KSM to fail because of "torture" by the Bush administration, expecting massive public outrage against Bush and Cheney. The next step could be to try to get Cheney.

Fortunately, they have probably overestimated the power of the mainstream media to shape public reaction.

You’re missing my point. The law does not apply to the Dems. It does not apply to judges appointed by Dems. It doesn’t matter what the facts are. It doesn’t matter how much their rights were violated. Since this would be a black mark on Obama’s administration, they WILL be convicted.

The charges will be dismissed, by any Federal judge who respects the law.

There isn't going to be a trial.

Even though Holder and the other RAT sock puppets say that Holder can keep KSM is custody even if KSM is acquitted that would be up to the judge. I'm sure KSM will sue the USA if he is acquitted and be around for that.
