At least Teri Schiavo was showing signs of life. She was most definitely murdered. But this poor guy, was it worth it under his circumstances?

Read the article. I cannot believe the poor guy is still sane.......what do you do with your mind all that time.

And did no one notice the slept occasionally? Body pattern are quite different then, and he most certainly slept. Sound like crappy socialized medicine to me................

Before my dad died, he was in a coma-like state, but I assumed he could hear.

My mother was in a coma for a few weeks before she died. I had read that hearing is the last sense to go. So for the final two weeks of her life I ensured that her favorite music was playing. I also sought out and invited family and friends to her death bed, including good friends he hadn't seen for years. We sat, chat, and laughed--sometimes uproariously--about the good memories and times we had enjoyed with her. It was our way of honoring her and comforting her on her journey out of this life. I don't know for sure that she heard us, but I'm reasonably confident she did. And if she did, she could have only been cheered.

I read a book similar to this.

Lady ended up typing a book one letter at a time with a pencil in her mouth.
