Cap and Trade: A License Required for your Home (Thinking about selling your house? HA!)

Cap and Trade: A License Required for your Home

We encourage you to read the provisions of the Cap and Trade Bill that has passed the House of Representatives and being considered by the Senate. We are ready to join the next march on Washington!

This Congress and whoever on their staffs that write this junk are truly out to destroy the middle class of the USA....

A License Required for your house

Thinking about selling your house - A look at H.R. 2454 (Cap and trade bill) This is unbelievable!

Only the beginning from this administration! Home owners take note & tell your friends and relatives who are home owners!

Beginning 1 year after enactment of the Cap and Trade Act, you won't be able to sell your home unless you retrofit it to comply with the energy and water efficiency standards of this Act. H.R. 2454, the "Cap & Trade" bill passed by the House of Representatives, if also passed by the Senate, will be the largest tax increase any of us has ever experienced.

The Congressional Budget Office (supposedly non-partisan) estimates that in just a few years the average cost to every family of four will be $6,800 per year. No one is excluded.

However, once the lower classes feel the pinch in their wallets, you can be sure these voters get a tax refund (even if they pay no taxes at all) to offset this new cost. Thus, you Mr. and Mrs. Middle Class America will have to pay even more since additional tax dollars will be needed to bail out everyone else.

But wait. This awful bill (that no one in Congress has actually read) has many more surprises in it. Probably the worst one is this:

A year from now you won't be able to sell your house. Yes, you read that right.

The caveat is (there always is a caveat) that if you have enough money to make required major upgrades to your home, then you can sell it. But, if not, then forget it. Even pre-fabricated homes ("mobile homes") are included.

In effect, this bill prevents you from selling your home without the permission of the EPA administrator. To get this permission, you will have to have the energy efficiency of your home measured.

Then the government will tell you what your new energy efficiency requirement is and you will be forced to make modifications to your home under the retrofit provisions of this Act to comply with the new energy and water efficiency requirements.

Then you will have to get your home measured again and get a license (called a "label" in the Act) that must be posted on your property to show what your efficiency rating is; sort of like the Energy Star efficiency rating label on your refrigerator or air conditioner.

If you don't get a high enough rating, you can't sell. And, the EPA administrator is authorized to raise the standards every year, even above the automatic energy efficiency increases built into the Act.

The EPA administrator, appointed by the President, will run the Cap & Trade program (AKA the "American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009") and is authorized to make any future changes to the regulations and standards he alone determines to be in the government's best interest. Requirements are set low initial y so the bill will pass Congress; then the Administrator can set much tougher new standards every year.

The Act itself contains annual required increases in energy efficiency for private and commercial residences and buildings.

However, the EPA administrator can set higher standards at any time.

Global Warming has collapsed . The science was definitely rigged and the Earth has cooled over the last 10 year. Don’t let these bastards say “Climate Change” . Ask them -—” Oh How did it change?” They discombobulate before you eyes. WE WON!!! The Climate change crap was a lie to get more control over your life. IT HAS FAILED. Tolerate no further discussions.

I’m starting to think that GE is a criminal enterprise.

They put out figures that housing purchases were up 10%.
Are these people being warned about this Cap and Trade BS.

One occupation that will benefit will be HVAC installers and salesmen. But seriously, what it will do is put an financial and hassle obstacle in the way of selling a home, and because of that families will be increasingly reluctant to do so. Moreover, people will start to abandon homes and walk away from their mortgages.

In effect, for someone who doesn't qualify for “compliance aid”, the cost of compliance will be deducted from whatever net equity they may have. With almost 1 in 4 homeowners being underwater (or upside down) with negative home equity, just how much will this law boost that proportion?

As if Cap’n-Tax isn't bad enough! This will be really bad for the economy!

but....but....but with the hackers emails revealed that global warming .... I mean ...WARMAL GLOATING.... to be total LIES...why are we even talking about Cap & Tax.... it is settled science... there should be no more discussion.

We need to call our Senators & congressmen & States legislature and tell them we will not tolerate any Copenhagen, executive orders, treaties, global warming, green jobs, twisty lighbulbs, textbooks that promote global warming. No more talk about polar bears declining (they are increasing) no more wind, solar etc.

We need to drill, baby, drill everywhere in the US there is oil, it should be available to drill.

Let’s stop the madness and trillions of dollars spent for NOTHING.

...repairmen will get a bounty for every old appliance they declare unfixable.

I wish. Manufacturers make things that are cheap enough that a new one, with warranty, costs less than the repair. Hey, they aren't stupid. Just think about the lost repairmen jobs.

“Global Warming has collapsed .”

The ONLY folks willing to report on this is FOX news. According to Glenn Beck, aside from the newspapers, NO other TV station has reported on it yet and until they do, it will be business as usual.

For starters you will have to buy carbon credits from Al Gore. Then you will have to give him something extra so he doesn’t tell the insurance company.

Then you’ll need a flak jacket to minimize the damage to your ribs after the electrical and plumbers unions find out that they’ve been cut out.

But that doesn't mean we have to take it! We can contact our Congressmen, tell them we expect nothing less than the truth of this, and then tell the media. If enough of us do that, they have to report and listen.

Call the Pres__ent (no ID) and tell him, no Koyoto, no Copenhagen, we have the truth, we need to pressure them. Be relentless, if not FReepers, who then?

I can see a lot of people just burning the place down and collect the insurance money.

I’m sure these days that would be a much higher amount than what the property would sell for.

“It won’t be easy, but it does start to look like civil disobedience will be necessary if some of this stuff passes.”

No. It won’t be easy. Conservatives are not accustomed to behaving the way progressives do. But it’s high time we learn to beat them at their own game. For example...Glenn Beck interviewed Dave Horowitz the other day. Horowitz, in the following footage, suggests that conservative women try “sit ins” in protest of..... (make the message as outrageous as they would)to fight Obamacare/rationing of mammagrams/Pap tests. As much as I hate to think it, we need to apply Alinsky tactics in order to be heard!

I see a rash of home fires when people decide to move.

Ooops ... wait a minute.

We might want to read this article first before we go burning down any houses for insurance money.

http://www.up2daterealestate.com/2009/07/08/will-cap-trade-affect-home-sales-an-update/

This labeling of existing homes might not be true after all.
