Climategate goes uber-viral, Gore flees leaving evil henchmen to defend crumbling citadel
Telegraph UK ^ | December 4th, 2009 | James Delingpole

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Al Gore has had to cancel a Copenhagen speaking event at which he had hoped to charge starry-eyed believers in his ManBearPig religion $1200 a piece for the privilege of shaking his hand, breathing in his CO2 and having his latest book inflicted on them.

Could those unforeseen circumstances have anything to do with Climategate?

I think so. Climategate is now huge. Way, way bigger than the Mainstream Media (MSM) is admitting it is – as Richard North demonstrates in this fascinating analysis. Using what he calls a Tiger Woods Index (TWI), he compares the amount of interest being shown by internet users (as shown by the number of general web pages on Google) and compares it with the number of news reports recorded. The ratio indicates what people are really interested in, as opposed to what the MSM thinks they ought to be interested in.

North explains:

Tiger Woods delivered 22,500,000 web and 46,025 news pages, giving ratio of 489. That is the “Tiger Woods Index” (TWI) against which I chose to measure a raft of other issues.

Here are the rankings:

1. Climategate: 28,400,000 – 2,930 = 9693 2. Afghanistan: 143,000,000 – 154,145 = 928 3. Obama: 202,000,000 – 252,583 = 800 4. Tiger Woods: 22,500,000 – 46,025 = 489 5. Gordon Brown: 12,300,000 – 37,021 = 332 6. Climate change: 22,200,000 – 68,419 = 324 7. Sally Bercow: 25,000 – 86 = 290 8. David Cameron: 545,000 – 4837 = 113 9. Meredith Kercher: 261,000 – 3,471 = 75 10. Chilcot Inquiry: 125,000 – 4,350 = 29

And lest anyone doubt how big this story is, now Sarah Palin has weighed in. On her Facebook page she urges President Obama to boycott Copenhagen. She totally gets it:

Everyone who isn't under a rock knows about this. The media are making themselves look like idiots.

Fine by me...more people will understand that they are in on the take.

I just did a google search to see how many hits I would get using the keyword CLIMATEGATE along with either MSM or LSM.

The result should give an indication of the number of websites where folks are complaining that mainstream media is not reporting anything about climategate.

As of 8:30 am EST Google shows 126,000 hits for the keywords climategate and “msm OR lsm”.

When I do grocery shopping tomorrow, I'll have to check out the supermarket rags -- maybe they're covering ClimateGate! ;-)

Last weeks barf-inducing, industrial eye-wash required cover story in the checkout was the First Wookie on the cover of Glamour.

I got a couple of smiles from an elderly couple as I moaned "oh for crying out loud" and covered it with another mag.

Can you believe anyone would plunk down $1200 to listen to that idiot?

When I was a junior in high school (that would have been 1972 for those of you keeping score at home) I had an American History class that allowed me to do a term project on any subject of my choosing.

At the time I wanted to do “propaganda” based on the belief (even then) that we were being lied to in our media.

Due to my unsophistication, lack of creativity, and not to mention the lack of an internet (algore hadn’t gotten around to it yet) I eventually abandoned this project as I had no way to measure what I felt sure was happening.

In the end I wrote the project on Chappaquiddick, where I made the argument that fat Ted was lying through his fat teeth and tried to get his underlings to take the rap for him.

So I guess I still did good :)

But I’m gratified that now there are scientific ways to confirm, for me, what was a hunch way back when :)

The founder of the Weather Channel wants to sue Al Gore for fraud, hoping a legal debate will settle the global-warming debate once and for all. (FOX News)

Speaking of high school here is a posting by a retired high school science teacher from New Zealand. The teacher does a good job of bringing the entire climategate/global warming issue down to a level we mortals can understand.

I sure hope he does -- and I hope he adds enough "John Does" (i.e., as yet unnamed) as defendendants as he needs!

Thanks for the link!

Global Warming guru Algore – wearing his ever present Nobel medal – is seen here en-route to an important “scientific” conference in Nassau hosted by the UN/IPCC where he was to be the keynote speaker.

Topics on the agenda were to have included “Finding a Good Bail Bondsman,” “Not ALL Criminal Lawyers Are Sharks,” “Changing Careers for Dummies,” “You Want Fries With That?,” “How To Encrypt Emails,” “The Best Prison Jobs,” “Getting Along With Your Cellmate” and “Getting Used to Sleeping On Your Back.”

A sudden – and unfortunate – blast of what the “scientist” in charge of the conference termed “global warming” caused the meeting to be rescheduled until Algore can be thawed some time next Spring – assuming there will BE one.

Our reported has learned that the major and influential conservative web site Free Republic has launched a contribution drive to rent a freezer locker in which to keep Gore for the 10 to 15 years estimated it will take for the so-called “mainstream media” to begin covering the Climategate story.

James Delingpole is great. This article also emphasizes the need to protect the freedom of the Internet. I think it will be on the radar of Obama even more after how it helped break this story.

It seems that the climategate coverage is increasing here. In the UK they are so vested in this. MSM still running scare tactics.

Sarah Palin's comments:
Boycotting Copenhagen while this scandal is thoroughly investigated would send a strong message that the United States government will not be a party to fraudulent scientific practices.

wont happen because Obama is part of it. She is very clever to call him on it.

MSNBC: Earth could plunge into sudden ice age

They are pretty transparent promoting GE business. I was hopeful that if Comcast buys NBC the news would be more objective, but read Comcast is pro-Obama health bill
