A map of how California will be affected by climate change in the future was unveiled yesterday by state governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The map, which demonstrates the devastating effects of global warming in just a century, shows how San Francisco Airport would be completely underwater if sea levels were to rise by 150cm (60in).

The coastline on the map was also coloured, highlighting how nearly half a million Californians are at risk from rising sea levels.

The map, named CalAdapt, which was revealed at a press conference on Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay by Mr Schwarzenegger and Google CEO Eric Schmidt, was created as part of a plan for the state to adapt to global warming.

'Within a century, Treasure Island, this place where we are right now, could be totally under water,' the governor said. 'It is technology in the end that will save us.'

Somehow I ain’t got a problem with San Francisco being under water. Any way we can speed up the process?

“Keep it up Arnold.
How many businesses have you driven from your State because of this Global Warming crap? How much tax dollars have you lost from these businesses? How many people have lost their jobs? How much in NEW taxes are the citizens of your State paying because of your Al Gore alarmism? And, lets see, for how much money is your State in debt? Is it millions or billions?

When will you gloom & doom idiots understand that us “commoners” DO NOT BELIEVE IN GLOBAL WARMING!!

Do I believe in natural climate change? Yes! Only 30 yrs. ago, Scientists were screaming doom and gloom about GLOBAL COOLING! Well, unfortunately for California, they were wrong.

Who says the sea level is going to rise by 5 feet? Gee, let’s produce a map showing what happens if it rises 100 feet!

The power to the sump pumps at Hamilton Field should’ve been turned off in the 70’s causing it to be submerged, but instead it’s remained high and dry, although below sea level, for the past 30 yrs.

SF nor TI are going under water, and TI is a man-made island, go figure!

During the Pleistocene period, great sections of California (and Oregon, Arizona and Utah) were under water. Why should anyone be surprised if, at some point in the future, that water returns?

The Earth changes. It's been changing for 4.4 billion years. We should all get a grip.

'Within a century, Treasure Island, this place where we are right now, could be totally under water,' the governor said.

1)Who will be around in a hundred years to call him a liar?

2)They can't tell me if it'll rain next Saturday but I am supposed to believe GW will kill us all in a hundred years?

3)Why is it ALWAYS money that will save us?/sarc

Meanwhile, behind the guvernator, an earlier undated map shows a vast inland sea that once reached as far as Utah, now the site of the Great Salt Lake. Had Algor been alive this could have been prevented.

Please tell me Pelousy’s district will be under water... she can’t run in a district that no longer exists, so that should reduce the number of liberal nitwits by at least one.

This should be titled: "Ahnold unveils fantasy land map of what could happen...maybe"

Hey Ahnold....got a map of what L.A. could look like after Iran drops a nuke on it? or how about what San Diego might look like if a major Zombie outbreak occurred??

You know what? I HOPE that they are right. I HOPE that they are even righter (if ther is such a word). I sincerely hope they have even UNDERESTIMATED the scope of damage that could be visited on these liberal oases.

Lastly, I hope it ALL comes true for them. The world will be better off with them breathing 'clean' seawater.
