Sarah Palin, climate expert?

Sarah Palin, climate expert?

Publishing her op-ed about global warming has caused big trouble for the Washington Post

Sarah Palin has created controversy for one of America’s most esteemed newspapers with a recent op-ed urging President Obama, in light of revelations from the Climategate scandal, to boycott the Copenhagen summit. The Washington Post has — in the words of one its top editors — been “ripped” for the decision publish Palin’s piece, which critics maintain distorts well-established scientific facts on climate change, including ones reported in the pages of the Post. To add to the humiliation, they say, Palin’s opinion piece was just a warmed-over version of a recent Facebook posting. Did the Post lower its standards to justify printing Palin's views on global warming — or is this just another case of the GOP star’s remarkable power to rile up her political opponents? (Watch an NBC report about Sarah Palin's climate change comments)

What was The Washington Post thinking? "George Will's fabrications" on Climategate in the Post are bad enough, says Tim Lambert in ScienceBlogs, but in publishing this wildly inaccurate hit job from "climate expert Sarah Palin" — the Post's own reporting "directly contradicts" what she's written — the once-great newspaper is proving it "simply does not care about the accuracy of the columns it publishes." It "can't go out of business fast enough."

The irony I see in their critique is that she can read and hear what’s going on and analyze it objectively as a non-scientist. The question they should ask is what motivation do the “warmers” have to support bad science.

And they fail to see the irony of “Al Gore, Climate Expert” being acceptable.

Or George Clooney, or Barbara Streisand, or whatever other Hollywood bubble-heads who have jumped on the bandwagon.

Ripped by whom? The White House? Climate fanatics? The People?

'Funny that when for once they do what a newspaper should be doing they get "ripped".

No taxpayer subsidy for you!

Just like our congress people are experts on health care, climate (tax and trade), economics and everything else they vote on. No wonder we are so screwed up.

It wasn't an Editorial. It was a features piece that highlighted DiCaprio's planetary crusade and allowed him to espouse his idiotic views. It's archived, so you'd have to buy it to read it.

Al Gore's 'climate expert' credentials: middling student at St. Albans, middling student at Harvard, failed to complete religious studies at Vanderbilt, failed to complete Vanderbilt Law School. And the sciences were never one of his strongpoints.

Nanny nanny poo poo I don’t care what they call me I want them to explain this hysterical ranting and stop being so irresponsible. Because I for one am going to hold them personally responsible for policies that will have my family freezing in the dark so carbon oligarchs can launder money to third world dictators. Stop going turtle when some ranting Crazy Aunt Sally of the left goes off on a bender. Who cares about them?

“But, if Leo (a kid who may only have a GED) is qualified to write about climate change, Palin certainly is as well - to say nothing of course about D-science student, ALGORE.”

According to Wikipedia, Dicaprio graduated from LA’s John Marshall High School after attending something called the Los Angeles Enrichment Center for 4 years. It’s some sort of college prep school. That’s the extent of his formal education.

“Climate expert” is an oxymoron.

Until our genius “climate experts” can forecast the weather accurately ever day for a year for any part of the world , I’ll take what they say with a grain of salt.

what well established facts?

the data that was forged and or manipulated to show a rise in temperatures that never happened? Or the models based on that falsified data, which were also tweaked to show a predetermined rise in temperatures? Or maybe they are referring to all the peer reviewed research that was reviewed by the same people who manipulated the data and suppressed any research that didn't agree with their political agenda?

But the left doesn’t want climatologists or meterologists, they want folks with degrees in other things. Science be damned I can make the numbers fit. And if I can’t make em fit I’ll make em up.....Yeah for academia

I thought it was one of their own climate experts, Rev. Al Gore, head priest of the AGW cult, that proclaimed the Earths core is millions of degrees hot(Centigrade, of course). Article is just another libtard response to a differing opinion.

If all ice on the planet melted, which it won’t, sea level would rise about 215 feet.

Which would turn most NYC skyscrapers into islands.

http://www.usatoday.com/weather/resources/askjack/2004-11-21-melting-polar-ice_x.htm

Would also do a dandy job on most of Florida. Large chunks of the rest of the country, too.

It looks to me like the State controlled media is exercising a CYA. Sarah Palin is more of a climate expert than Al Gore! She has real science backing her claims.
