WASHINGTON (AP) — Sen. John McCain says he understands why Sarah Palin blacked out his name on a McCain campaign visor so she could avoid recognition while on vacation in Hawaii.
The Arizona Republican made the comments about his 2008 running mate on "Fox News Sunday."

I put a razor to his name on old bumper stickers, it just reads Palin.
Seen a few other stickers the same way - the razor blade is catching on.

You want to avoid recognition while on vacation in Hawaii? Go to a tourist shop, buy a visor that says "Hawaii" on it, and you'll fit right in. Take a visor, haphazardly scratch out what it says, and you're guaranteed to attract stares from people wondering what you're hiding. But I suspect that was the intent all along.

Exactly. She obviously did this to make a point, which is fine. But now everyone is trying to pretend like she wasnt doing it to make a point. The backtracking is not making her look good, to be honest, and she needs to look good to people who dont post on Free Republic to win anything.
