Tester: Reform ‘saves lives, saves money, saves Medicare’ (rumpswab, MT)
Jon Tester US Sen MT ^ | 12.21.09 | Tester

ON, D.C.) – Senator Jon Tester today made a powerful case for health care reform by sharing personal stories from Montanans with other lawmakers on Capitol Hill.

Tester announced he will vote for the Senate’s health care reform bill because it “saves lives, saves money and saves Medicare” using common sense and fiscal responsibility.

And, Tester added, the bill cracks down on insurance companies, preventing them from denying people who get sick or have pre-existing conditions.

“Right now, we are all paying far too much for health insurance,” Tester said during a speech on the Senate floor. “Many of us can’t get health insurance at all. And even worse, insurance companies don’t always live up to their end of the bargain.”

Tester told his colleagues that as a farmer, he and his wife had to drop their own health insurance decades ago because they couldn’t afford it after the birth of their first child.

Unfortunately, that is what some business and local government interests want. They love the pork!

What is your sense of how the people of MT will react to the socialist health care bill? Anything in your local papers about it?

Everything the Senator said was an outright lie or a misrepresentation of the matter.

Insurance is high because of government mandates as to what they must cover. Eliminating pre-existing conditions won’t make it any cheaper. Even at that most people are not unhappy with their insurance companies. The Democrats just declare they are and that is accepted as truth.

Medicare is broken simply because it exists. It was ripe for fraud and abuse from the beginning. It is a typical government program. It costs too much, provides too little, and pays out to the providers too little. It is way too expensive for the taxpayers.

So, they are going to enroll everyone else into a similar program. How smart is that? If you are an average American it is not very smart. If you are a Communist it is very smart.

As always they either declare a problem to exist or create one which MUST be solved. Then their solution creates additional problems (”unintended consequences”) which require more money and more government intervention. This is continued through many iterations until the government controls everything, solving problems they created.

Remember, government employee labor unions give almost all their political contributions to Democrats. The larger the government the more government employees. The more employees the more money for Democrats.

So true.

Small business laid off employees or cut their hours due to increase in minimum wage.

Now this ‘bill’ will force them to either pay a fine (that helps who/how?) or cut employees further.

Swell, just f’n swell.

In the words of Capt’n Binghamton, I could scream, just scream. (and I do)

Oh. Well, if it helps, there were protesters at his office in Butte. There was a local TV news report about it, but no link or story about it on their web site.

Nothing in the local paper.

Emails to the station about the report have gone unanswered.

It is generational theft of public land from future generations for the sake of creating a private wilderness play ground for the young wealthy liberal elites.

He is just paying off some of his political debts.
