If we turn security over to civilian contractors and ALLOW said contractors to DO THE JOB, we would have much safer skies! THERE! I said it!

WBAP now reporting that TSA says it up to airlines to set inflight restrictions. One clip has a transportation consultant saying the restrictions are only reactive — if you say you can’t have anything in your lap the last hour before landing, a potential bomber will set a bomb off 1 1/2 hours before landing.
American Airlines announced earlier today that they will no longer provide blankets and pillows to passengers. Why am I suspicious that they are just using this as an excuse to save money?

That is an excellent program, I use it often.
But the reason i jumped on the thread was to say that Mark is very funny tonight.
Any time I’ve had the privelege of greeting the pilot and/or co-pilot as I deboarded at the end of the flight, my words have always been the same (for the last few years anyway). “Thank you for a non-eventful flight”. They seem to appreciate that.
You should hear some of the nuts calling Hugh Hewitt tonight. I always knew people could be this stupid, especially the 62 million that voted for STOOPID....
My 5-0 start in the bowl pool is now a distant memory. With Texas Tech’s loss tonight, I’m now 5-2......
Here’s the deal. We DO remember 9/11.
99.99999% of air passengers just want to get from point A to point B...... as safely and as quickly as possible.
IF some idiot manages to get ON the plane (due to the lack of security ON THE GROUND) and tries to pull something off while the plane is in the air, the rest of the passengers on that flight are NOT going easy. We will do whatever it takes to protect the cockpit and each other. We don’t even need air marshalls. I think that’s just been proven.
So.... give us back our pillows and blankets. Let us keep our books and magazines to fill the time. If I wanna knit, what the hell is the harm in THAT? I’m not going to bring an airplane down with a flippin’ knitting needle!
Once again, government has shown it’s total lack of anything remotely resembling BASIC COMMON SENSE. And we pay money for this crap!
