LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles County prosecutors have decided no charges will be filed against a suburban police officer who kicked a surrendering suspect in the head after a dangerous car chase.
Rodriguez, a parolee heavily covered in gang tattoos, was lying face-down on the ground during the May 13 incident, which was broadcast by a TV news helicopter. After four officers converged on Rodriguez, two of them did a "high five."

Let's assume we all just looked at a video of the SEALs punching the terrorist in the face while in the act of apprehending the terrorist. I assume two of you would advocate the court martial?
Know too little about that case to remark about the facts. If they singled out a few SEALs from hundreds of similar incidents it seems blatantly unfair on the surface.
But anyhow, what was to be gained in THIS case (not the SEALs case) except a few seconds of jollies on the part of the boys in blue? And maybe a channel for the built up vitriol of a few on a rightist web site? Consequences can be a bear, and the Feds have no money issues like California does (they can always print more).
No, I am sure it is in there somewhere. :0)
That crap has to stop before it becomes more common. What is going to happen if the police can willfully disregard the law? I can foresee a lot more dead public servants. That profession might actually become as dangerous as a construction worker’s. ;0)
Force was absolutely necessary in this case. However, perhaps the type of force used looked a little too harsh for some people.
When cops are subduing a violent perp who has just gone on a rampage, the act of lying on the ground would do little to comfort me. If I could see both of the perps hands extended from the body that would make me feel a little better.
Personally, I would have made sure another officer had this guy covered with a firearm, then put my firearm away, and then jumped on this guys back, leaned on his head and grabbed his hands. And I would have landed on him hard.
And yes, I am a cop. So I have more than a passing familiarity with this type of situation.
The other (Federal) shoe is likely to drop on them and California knows it. This is one aspect of the two-edged sword of the relatively new Federal involvement in civil rights issues, producing an essential double jeopardy situation. There might be a temptation to wink locally at official misbehavior because Uncle Sam can be counted on to stomp (as he did with Rodney King).
Watch it, then comment.
Like fools, all who have presumed to come against me can only mock and sneer themselves.
You know you’re wrong.
He was in the grip — of a K9 officer.
I will, but regardless of what I see I think I will stand by my assertion that some type of force was needed given this perp’s actions.
The caricature which Free Republic has been turned into by some characters to whom it is more like Redneck Rampage Republic or Statist Safety Republic.
You have basically said you don’t care about the facts so why should anyone care about what you think.
Ha ha LOL!
Now I can see why people are reacting so negatively to you. You're kind of a douche.
I readily admitted that I had not seen the video and gave a professional opinion based on prior experience.
I simply said that a criminal who had just gone on a rampage where he could have caused a number of deaths deserved some use of force to restrain. If you disagree with that, then there is no hope for you. And I hope you are never attacked by a criminal because you'll be at their mercy.
“Ha ha LOL!”
Glad you liked it. Even gladder that you still chose not to answer.
Oh...you could answer...but you won’t.
I guess you don’t have kids. If you ever do, you’ll realize how tired that trick is on an adult...and how childish your act here is. I think your ego matches your rather over the top phraseology. Fools! Only fools don’t see your genius! lol.
Now...on to your next non-sequitur...unless you care to answer any of my original questions? I know you’ve already said you can’t, but I believe in second(third, fourth) chances.
Look, the moment you decided to start talking gay, I knew you were mired hopelessly in sin.
In the full training video, the dog goes after his handler's arm and won't release it . . . so, no.
“Look, the moment you decided to start talking gay, I knew you were mired hopelessly in sin.”
I started talking gay? Who the hell said this...I can’t imagine anything more gay than the following quote by you. Would you say it to a person’s face? No, because you’d feel foolish. And if you did, you damned well better be sitting on a thrown and holding a scepter. And you’d probably still look stupid.
“Like fools, all who have presumed to come against me can only mock and sneer themselves.”
If you had to write a sentence defining gay, it would be someone who spoke like they were in a Richard Feist novel...but only on the internets. lol.
So why won’t you answer the questions? Do you think you’re fooling anyone? I mean, do you think you’re fooling us fools?
Your entire purpose here is to bog down threads with insults. You never debate...you make some idiotic leftist statement, make a feeble attempt at opposition, and then when you invariably start losing the “debate” you just resort to spamming insults. You’re not hard to figure out. There’s only about 500 million of you on the internet right now.
Sheesh...I meant throne. Freudian slip perhaps?
