On Wednesday, the staff at Anaheim Medical Center became suspicious of the story given them by Juana Perez Valencia, 19, who though showing all of the signs, claimed she had not just given birth. Orange County deputies arrived and questioned her, eventually finding the corpse of her newborn daughter in the dumpster behind Sombreros restaurant, where Valencia works as a waitress.
Apparently, Valencia gave birth to the girl on Tuesday night in the restaurants bathroom, and allegedly placed the baby into a plastic bag, before tossing her into the dumpster.
An autopsy concluded that the baby had in fact been born alive and healthy.
Deputy District Attorney Ebrahim Baytieh told the Orange County Register that the Mexican national had concealed her pregnancy, and was fully aware that she could have simply handed the baby over to authorities with no questions asked, but instead chose to let her die in a trash bin.
The Orange County District Attorneys Office issued the following statement: "The baby girl was born alive. Baby Doe weighed 6.3 pounds and was 17 inches long. The defendant is accused of murdering the baby, putting Baby Doe in a plastic bag, and throwing her body in a dumpster behind the restaurant."
Valencia has been charged with murder and currently sits in the Orange County Jail awaiting her arraignment next week. If convicted, she faces a sentence of 25 years to life. Prosecutors are seeking $1 million bail.
“We need carefully crafted programs that allow American businesses to hire needed foreign workers, she continued.
HEY JANET, why not give ALL those available jobs to unemployed Americans ?
Oh, wait, there are no jobs.
Idjit.”
I’m glad someone else noticed that line. UNbelievable. Another dem said the other day that we need a ‘guest worker program’...DUH...we bring in a couple million ‘guest workers’ on multiple types of visas now, most of which never leave.
I’ll be glad to state it as I’ve seen it over the years.
Mexico is the Taliban with maybe 10% of Catholicism thrown in for make-believe credibility.
They pride themselves on their pride and ego IMO.
As a footnote to this tragedy, I would like to see the restaurant where she worked, looked into, for it’s hiring practices. Quite possible the woman used fraudulent documents to obtain employment, but anytime an employer is found to hire illegals, it would seem to be a good idea to uncover the source.
I strongly believe enforcement of existing laws would have a ripple affect benefit to society.
“Even when people KNOW they can turn in a baby anonymously, to instead decide to murder the baby.”
Yes, that is the worst part of the story, isn’t it? I and many others would gladly take her baby. Perhaps she is a disciple of ‘la muerte’, Mexico’s worship of death.

Agreed, jttpwalsh. Arizona has proven it.
Enforcement DOES work!
Immigration, economy affecting number of births in Arizona
Dec. 30, 2009 12:00 AM
[snip]states Department of Health Services show a 7 percent drop in the number of infant births in the past year alone and a more than 10 percent drop over the past two years....
But the impact of the states anti-illegal-immigration efforts, particularly the nearly 2-year-old employer-sanctions law, cannot be ignored, he said....
So far this year, there have been 3,193 fewer births among Hispanics compared with 2008.
2001-07, the major force of population dynamics in Arizona was the in-migration, rather than an increase in births over deaths, Mrela said in an e-mail.
Since 2008, because of all the factors mentioned, Arizona isnt really an inviting state.

I was so glad when she left Arizona. Unfortunately, now we are ALL stuck with her ;-)
I mentioned to my college roommate when I was a freshman that they just found the second baby in the dumpster near his home at the Kutztown State (PA) teachers college this spring.
He explained it happened every year and they only found two, how many were missed?
And if anyone speed reads and missed it, THESE GIRLS WERE TEACHERS, or at least wannabees. And they always complain they don’t get paid enough depending on their school district. Too many are extremely overpaid.

On the other hand for example, Russians (I have personal experience here) are put through the wringer with any sort of immigration matter. Getting permanent residence for a non-American family member (spouse, etc.) is a HUGELY complicated matter, and costs a minimum of around $1300.00 just in filing fees (thats if you do everything yourself). If anyone needs help with this, incidentally, feel free to freepmail me (I am a natural-born American, so my experience is from the perspective of bringing a relative in).
The whole thing is a bunch of crap. I have talked to eastern europeans who went through nightmarish experiences immigrating to the US who think the idea of just handing out amnesty is absurd!
Just before Christmas I looked into booking a spring break in New York (my girlfriend is shopping mad and I like the buildings). However, I recently went to court ‘charged with using language to offend and distress’ when replying to an Islamic nutter on a community website. I appealed and it was overturned, but I am still barred from entering the US for 3 years.
Perhaps the US Immigration Service needs to take a good look at itself.
There have been seven illegal alien amnesties passed into law since 1986:
·The 1986 Immigration and Reform Control Act blanket amnesty for an estimated 2.7 million illegal aliens
·1994: The Section 245(i) temporary rolling amnesty for 578,000 illegal aliens
·1997: Extension of the Section 245(i) amnesty
·1997: The Nicaraguan Adjustment and Central American Relief Act for nearly one million illegal aliens from Central America
·1998: The Haitian Refugee Immigration Fairness Act amnesty for 125,000 illegal aliens from Haiti
·2000: Extension of amnesty for some 400,000 illegal aliens who claimed eligibility under the 1986 act
·2000: The Legal Immigration Family Equity Act, which included a restoration of the rolling Section 245(i) amnesty for 900,000 illegal aliens]
Guess what? None not oneof those amnesties was associated with a decline in illegal immigration. On the contrary, the number of illegal aliens in the U.S. has more than tripled since President Reagan signed the first amnesty in 1986. The total effect of the amnesties was even larger because relatives later joined amnesty recipients, and this number was multiplied by an unknown number of children born to amnesty recipients who then acquired automatic US citizenship.
Amen !
NAFBPO just sent me this. More on ‘enforcement works’ in Arizona.

Drop in crime coincides with exodus of illegal immigrants
A marked drop in Phoenix-area crime coincides with the recession and a drop in the number of illegal immigrants in Arizona.
Phoenix has seen a 25 percent decline in the number of crimes during the first five months of 2009 compared to the same time period in 2007 when the economy began to slow. Violent crime in Phoenix is down 12 percent, according crime statistics from the Phoenix Police Department.
The Mesa Police Department reports a 19 percent decrease in total crimes for the first half of 2009 versus the first half of 2007, including a 10 percent drop in violent crime. Tempe has seen a 25 percent total drop.
At the same time, the states illegal immigrant population has decreased by as much as one-third thanks to the down U.S. economy, tougher enforcement polices by the federal government and Maricopa County Sheriffs Office, as well as the states employer sanctions law which goes after businesses who hire undocumented workers, said Steven Camarota, director of the Center for Immigration Studies.
CIS estimates Arizonas illegal immigrant population has gone from 579,000 in 2007 to 388,000 this year 191,000-person drop.

Thanks for the update. I live in Calif, and can only dream of such things...
“White people, born here, have never done anything like this?
Why don’t you do something novel, like be honest, and admit you hate Hispanics?”
Why don’t you try honesty and ADMIT you have never once objected to a crime by an illegal alien of ANY stripe???
Mod, I’m tired of being stalked by this racist, baiting LIBERAL! The poster lies, slanders, and never stops...WHY is this allowed?
It can’t even read! POST NUMBER FIVE!
ME: What a shame. And yes, I realize there are homegrown American girls just as shameless. Do we need to import more??
Post # 24 Me:
Yes, that is the worst part of the story, isnt it? I and many others would gladly take her baby.
I can assure you jla, Aunt B is not a hater of hispanics. So go crawl underneath your rock or leave this forum.
We don’t need your kind here.
That is really great. Calling a fellow freeper (and one of our best yet) a racist for simply posting a news article about an illegal alien gone bad. What is your problem ? Are you “illegal” yourself ??? Mad because you cant get some benefits americans can?
So you think Palin is for Amnesty??? Looks like it.
(Mexico is Palin Country - jla)
I agree, Auntb is a gret FReeper.
So you think Palin is for Amnesty???
AFAIK Palin has not made her position clear.
