I would point out Israel. Every since Israel has been in existance, the fine, fine Arabs, known for their tolerance and freedom of all religion and peoples, as well as bringing prosperity in abundance to their citizenry, have raised their children to hate Israel. All because, well the despots and dictators running these fine upstanding countries, all with oil wealth that should have every citizen in his own home, happy and warm, sure don’t want their restless citizens blaming THEM, maybe wanting those fat cats out that they may rule themselves. Add an oppressive religion and boom, there you have it, the French Riviera for me, ghettos and despair for thou. Having a Democratic country in the midst of all this, damn...dangerous.
Israel’s done everything to make the Arabs like them, often causing deaths to their citizens, witness that fine, fine Arafat, who’s buried in somebody’s back yard. Arafat should have died long before he did and Israel should have did the killing. Yet they STILL hate Israel. They want all of Jerusalem. If Israel gives them Jerusalem, they move the goal posts. Because they want them and their free election and happy populace OUTTA THERE! Israel’s crime nowadays? BUILDING STUFF ON THEIR OWN LAND!
If Juan thinks these sons of camels will someday love and admire America, an America with free and happy people that the citizens, like those in Iran, might take a fancy to having such their own selves...I got a bridge to sell him.

I was in the hospital from Monday through New Years day due to lung complications after breaking my rib. I’m still in bad shape, but getting better.
I was up at 4:30 am, thought of posting the thread then, determined that was too early, so went back to bed.
My wife wakes me with the following: “It’s almost 8:30! Did you post your thread yet?”
So I came straight to the computer while she fixed me a coffee. And here you all were!
David Brooks doesn’t like the tea party people much, but he thinks they may be a force to be reckoned with.

The population of South Fla. is probably 5-6 million by now,at least a million of them are lawyers. He will have the best representation our money can buy.
It’s been my theory for a long time that most of the “elites” from both sides of the aisle were not very popular in high school and have spent the rest of their lives forming their own “cool” group and telling each other how THEY are really the “cool” people and the rest of us are the losers.
I can think of nothing else to explain the dislike of Sarah Palin by some GOP pundits. It’s like they are driven to make themselves seem cool to Hollywood and other press members.
