He said Ward is due to reappear in court in late January before U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker for a status conference and scheduling...

Former "Entertainment Tonight" host Leeza Gibbons has a new role, this one thanks to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. On Wednesday, the governor announced her appointment to a board that oversees California's stem cell agency. Gibbons, whose mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, will fill the Alzheimer's advocate seat on the 29-member Independent Citizens Oversight Committee. "Leeza's personal experience as a caregiver and advocate makes her uniquely qualified for this position," Schwarzenegger spokeswoman Gena Grebitus said in an e-mailed statement. In 2002, Gibbons and her family founded the nonprofit Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation after her mother was diagnosed. She spent a decade...

A veiled and observant Muslim medical doctor, Ms. [Heba] Kotb is a Cairo-based sex therapist -- which makes her a pioneer in this part of the world. She combines Islam and tradition with science and modernity, encouraging her conservative and religious audience to discuss a topic largely shunned in public. Doing so, she says, will help save many a troubled marriage in the Arab world and rescue the young from inaccurate sexual information. "Sexual relations are like a gas station ... If the gas is no good, the car will break," she says. "This is what happens to marriages in...

FRIDAY AT THE WHITE HOUSE Well, this hasn't been what you would call an ordinary week off. There I am last Wednesday taking a hike in the desert outside of Tucson, Arizona. I come back to the room and decide to check the email. There's a message from the White House marked "urgent." Well ... let me tell ya ... you're gonna want to open that message, and so I did. OK ... so this might be such a big deal for some folks out there, but it sure got my attention. The President was inviting me and a few...

Brian Springer - Spin 57 min 26 sec - Apr 9, 2006 Using the 1992 presidential elections as his springboard, documentary filmmaker Brian Springer captures the behind-the-scenes maneuverings of politicians and newscasters in the early 1990s. Pat Robertson banters about 'homos', Al Gore learns how to avoid abortion questions, George Bush talks to Larry King about halcyon - all presuming they are off camera. Composed of 100% unauthorized sattelite footage, Spin is a surreal expose of media constructed reality.

To update on the CFIR rally on April 8, it seems that some corporate bigwigs are throwing their weight around trying stifle any attempt at a significant rally to close our borders, at least when it comes to allowing their on-air assets to take part. I just got this e-mail from CFIR Dallas: Friends, Mike Gallagher, KSKY, 660am, 6-9a.m., has had to put aside his plan to hold a protest on April 8th. The reason: The companies who own the other stations would not allow their talk show hosts to take part. Gallagher feels that he would need help from...

So who do you think is the best conservative talk show host that's not Rush or Hannity? Me, I'm going with a dark horse and picking Todd Schnitt. His show is based out of Tampa, and has affliates in Fort Lauderdale/Miami (my area), San Antonio, and now South Carolina. His website is http://www.schnittshow.com His show is basically a cruder, more laid back version of Rush's, except that the phone calls are always "whatever is on the callers mind." Schnitt favorites: his proclivity for calling liberals (and some conservatives, he holds nothing back) "a$$ clowns." Also, he hosts a very popular...

HAPPYBIRTHDAYRUSH Born, January 12, 1951 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Make no mistake. Rush Limbaugh is “The Passion.” He is the passion of conservatism, the very pulse, bounding through the veins of the nation. He produces life with every heartbeat of his show as he scoffs at liberals and gives us his interpretation of conservative truth. His brand of ideology shakes the very foundations of liberalism. He follows in the footsteps of giants, such as George Washington, Thomas Paine, and Ronald Reagan, promoting the ideals of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. He broadcasts affectionately trying to steer growing...

He's called Bill Clinton ''a traitor" and Al Gore ''Al Whore," but until now, Jay Severin's radio audience has been largely limited to Boston. That will change in January. Today Infinity Broadcasting will announce that it has signed the sharp-tongued former political consultant to do a radio show in a series of syndicated markets beginning next year.

Mr. T, TV Land 'Pity the Fool' (Monday, September 12 02:47 PM) LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) "The A-Team" may or may not ever take its place in the pantheon of classic TV shows, although viewers of a certain age (that'd be about 28 to 36, men in particular) tend to remember it fondly. One of the show's stars, though, may soon make it onto classic-TV network TV Land. Mr. T has signed a deal to star in a pilot for the channel called "I Pity the Fool," in which he'll dole out advice and try to help people in difficult situations....

Other than a three-day weekend, most Americans don't give much thought to what they're supposed to be observing on Labor Day. In practice, it's become little more than the unofficial celebration of the end of summer. Back in 1882, when New York City's Central Labor Union inaugurated the holiday, the labor movement was quite a different thing than it is today. Once upon a time, workers had valid grievances regarding pay, hours, conditions and safety. Unions served a positive role in leveraging the collective influence of their members to pressure management to redress those grievances. But labor unions are political...

Good interview by Mike Rosen on KOA 850am today with Melanie Morgan of Move America Forward and Deborah Johns of Northern California Marine Corps Moms. In the final minutes of their one hour appearance a caller from Colorado Springs called in to argue against the two guests and the mission of our military in Iraq. He started the call by stating that he had served for ten years in the Army during the first gulf war in Kuwait / Iraq. The caller was unhinged during his 5 to 7 minutes 'debating' with Mike and Melanie Morgan, totally undisciplined. He was...

Washington, D.C. talk radio station WMAL, 630 AM, has caved to pressure from the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a group that has savaged journalists, critics of radical Islam, even the Fox TV show ?24??but which just as steadfastly has refused to specifically condemn various Islamic terrorist organizations. After a three-week suspension, mid-morning host Michael Graham was fired over the weekend for his comment on July 21 that ?Islam has, sadly, become a terrorist organization.? According to a formal statement issued by the host last night, Disney-owned WMAL terminated him for the original remarks and his refusal to apologize for them....

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - The San Francisco Giants' flagship radio station fired controversial talk-show host Larry Krueger and two station officials Tuesday night, six days after Krueger made racially tinged criticisms of the club and manager Felipe Alou. Tony Salvadore, KNBR's vice president and general manager, announced the firings of Krueger, program manager Bob Agnew and KNBR Morning Show producer Tony Rhein in a brief statement. Salvadore said the firings were related to "inappropriate comedy sound bytes" played Tuesday morning during a discussion of Alou's recent interview with ESPN in which he roundly criticized KNBR and Krueger, who was suspended...

I would like to thank all of you for the frequent words of support you offer your military, who serve this nation because they understand what is at stake.

On evening long ago in Boston, Robert Emerson Newman, sexton of the Old North Church, hung two lanterns for his silversmith friend and fellow Minuteman Paul Revere. Grampy Newman was captured by the British shortly thereafter, who quickly realized that a signal had been given to announce their arrival in Boston Harbor to the rebels. The Brits were rather upset with my great x 6 grandfather. Those were the days when American patriotism was born.

ABC News reporter Terry Moran made a name for himself by challenging White House spokesman Scott McClellan's request that Newsweek do more to correct the damage it inflicted on the Muslim world by publishing the false Koran-in-the-toilet story. Moran asked whether McClellan was trying to act like editor of Newsweek. McClellan might have made a better editor. After all, Newsweek editor Mark Whitaker was traveling and didn't see the final version of the dubious story before it was published. Moran also made news when he went on the Hugh Hewitt radio show and not only acknowledged an anti-military bias in...

For years the American Civil Liberties Union has pushed its agenda in terms of what the Constitution “really says,” and what freedom “really means” through judicial extortion. In 1978, the Supreme Court exempted the ACLU from the “ambulance chasing” prohibitions that apply to nearly every other lawyer in the country. Over the years this has enabled the ACLU’s legions of pro bono attorneys to target various organizations they feel are vulnerable to their lawsuits, to dredge the ranks of the “offended” until they can find someone who will agree to let the ACLU stick their name at the top of...

The filibuster isn't a noble institution, it's a tactic - and one with a checkered past, at that. Liberals decried it in the 1960s when segregationist Southern Democrats used it to thwart the will of the majority to block civil rights legislation. But at least that tawdry application of the filibuster was consistent with its purpose in the United States Senate as a procedure to force legislative compromise.

Talk-Show Host Fired Over Pope Question April 15, 2005 PITTSBURGH — An evangelical Christian talk show host who questioned the beliefs of the Catholic church and entertained a caller's question about whether the late Pope John Paul II (search) would go to heaven has been fired. Marty Minto (search), 39, a senior pastor at a New Castle church, was fired Friday after three years as a host on WORD-FM in Pittsburgh. He said he was told that he was alienating listeners.
