Hi, Twink. I haven't seen you in a while.

You have a very good outlook on life. I probably told you that before. :-)

Time to dust off the WAY OLD Smoker’s Lounge pinglist, and add these other two to the mix just for snits and giggles

Not long after we learn the plante won't auto-ignite from CO2?

No, you need a match or a lighter. LOL

(I caught your correction)

To quote Dr. Joycelyn Elders, "You know, most of the people that die with heart disease and cancer are our elderly population, you know, and we all will probably die with something sooner or later."

I knew of a driver who never smoked or drank and was a total fitness nut. He worked out and road his bike to work every day. That is, until he was run over by a truck on the way to work one morning and was killed. So live your lives and quit worrying the hell about everything.

You know, we all have choices in this life, and our life comes from those choices.

You are on a conservative site and yet you want to tell kids what they can and cannot do by taxation and vilification.

They make them were helmets and pads so that they won’t get hurt. The list goes on and on and on.

I tried to teach my kids the best I knew how. I also got mad at them and punished them when necessary. My sons do not smoke. They do not drink to excess. They are more than courteous to others, even friendly.

As you may know, you cannot regulate morals, which this country is trying to do.

I’m sorry if you feel this is heavy handed, but liberty means just that. Tell them the consequences, don’t beat into their heads or you make them want to disobey.

Yeah....conservatives shouldn’t be concerned with kids smoking and turning into addicts, or twelve-year-olds having babies, fifteen-year-olds shooting one another, seventeen-year-olds dying of AIDS, and eighteen-year-olds graduating with diplomas they cannot read.

You really shouldn’t post on topics you know very little about. Smoking isn’t stupid as much as it’s a risk. It’s an activity they enjoy and they roll the dice. You think it’s a waste of money, but I bet there are activities that you engage in that people would think are a waste of money. For the record, I’m only smoke sometimes on the weekends when I’m drinking. I like how it tastes after a few drinks. As weird as this might sound, I also like the smell of cigarette smoke.

Please see post 55.

And FWIW I never said I lead a perfect life, in fact I am not only wasteful, but an ignorant, arrogant, slovenly, stubborn, lazy sinner as well, and yes I’ve tried cigarettes on more than one occasion and done millions of other stupid things in my life. None of that makes what I wrote untrue. Smoking is stupid.

Sorry, Don, the Smokers' Lounge ping list was retired long ago, and far away, somewhere in a galaxy, etc, etc, etc.

He could have got this information from Free Republic 5 or 6 years ago.

We vetted the "scientific" reports and studies and tore them apart.

That was back before the public decided to be a "democracy" and let mob rule take away privileges from minorities.

Thanks for the ping Joe and thanks for the reminder of the lounge. Here’s a ping to those I met there, even if it is in memory only.......

"A McDonalds Sausage McMuffin with Egg breakfast sandwich contains no ingredient that exists naturally in the universe."

That is simply nonsense.

As with any natural product, there are positives and negatives with tobacco use.

Problem is, we will never know the truth because the media will only present the “PC” view of the issue.

Feel free to believe the earth is flat too. Smoking definitely increases the risk of cancer.

Do you have a reading comprehension problem? Show me one place in the article where he says that cigarette smoking DOESN'T increase the risk of cancer. To the contrary, he says it does increase the risk but the risk is far smaller than most people believe. He also tells the truth about second hand smoke, which doesn't increase the risk of anything, but is highly annoying sometimes to a non smoker.

You don’t understand the difference between stupid and risky. Sorry I waited so long to respond. I smoke about five cigarettes a week and am not addicted. The fact is, my addiction to donuts is more of health concern to me than my smoking

You and I can agree to disagree.

Please don’t lecture me on what I know or don’t know.

I don’t consider the amount you smoke to be risky, just as I wouldn’t consider a doughnut a week to be risky. I also don’t think you are stupid.

I know that millions of people die early, horrible deaths from smoking.

You can choose to support or not support this industry to whatever level you feel comfortable with.
